Friday press conference... 09:48 - May 3 with 3737 viewsNorthernr

Sorry, missed the start, said we'd trained well and no offers for Cesar

Bosingwa wasn't laughing. Somebody said something to him. He was as choked as we've all been. It's been coming for a few weeks, since Wigan got that goal against us. No lack of effort or desire. The squad is not good enough, those are the absolute facts. You can say he's played for this club and won this but it's not good enough. We haven't had goals, Ryan Nelsen left in January he'd been the best player, we were short in certain areas.

Unless people move out you can't keep bringing people in and have a squad of 40. I want to bring people in, rebuild, build a team to get out of this league next year and I can do that. But shifting people out wll be the hard part. We don't want to pay them off, if teams want them we'll move them but you can't just pay people off because they haven't done well. We have good players here, like Remy who will score 20 goals a year in the Prem, clubs are going to want. Others will be hard to shift because of their wages.

Joey has had a good season at Marseille, I think they want to keep him. It's a case of Marseille doing a deal with QPR. I think he'd rather stay there than come back here. If he doesn't want to stay he;ll come back here and play and be a good player, but I'd be surprised.

We're looking for pride, playing well, the supporters pay their money and want to see a performance. Couldn't have a more difficult game, Arsenal playing well Have to turn in a good performance.

Mourinho terrific. Benitez done a fantastic job. Common knowledge the Chelsea fans want to see Mourinho back, the players would, his record is fantastic. (Fcking Sky Sports, why they asking this?)

Germany have two fantastic teams at the moment. It goes that way. Next year it might be somebody else, back to two English teams or two |Spanish teams. Bayern and Dortmund two great teams, looking forward to watching the final.

Tony tlking to the media so much doesn't make my job more difficult. He owns the club, if he wants to do interviews it's his opinion. I don't have to agree with him, we didn't lack commitment we lacked ability. I fielded a team that was hard to beat by flooding the midfield but as soon as we open up and try to win we get beat. Badly balanced squad, lacking ability, lacking top class, if you started the season over again you'd still get relegated with this squad.

Some chairman come out and talk, others you don't hear from. Changing game, changing world, years ago nobody knew who the chairman was. Now they're more high profile. Tony is entitled to his opinion, I don't necessarily have to agree.

Samba to be assessed this morning.

Sick of the club saying that we don't lack commitment. We obviously lack commitment, the only thing we don't lack is a bunch of cnu ts, ten a penny at ours.

Fcuking fed up of this league and these people. Hope they all fcuk off.

The anti Redknapp brigade baffle me. Nearly all of us said when he came in he had no hope of keeping us up and we were down and then for some reason, loads of people seem to think we should have stayed up.

I keep reading on here that it's his fault we didnt buy a second striker in the transfer window happily forgetting that Stoke were asking for over £10 million for Crouch and West Brom were taking the p1ss over Odemwinge....and then the same people say we paid way too much for Samba. At the time we knew we needed a second striker but that much for Crouch is a joke and I;m glad we didnt pay it,

The last thing we need is ANOTHER new manager but hey ho, that's a lot of our fans for you at the moment. And no, i dont love Redknapp but who did they think we were going to get that was better then, and now!? and don't say Poyet...why would he join us!?

agree with some of this. we were in such a state when HR took over, he actually managed to make us solid for a few games. Eventually our poor performances and lack of ability caught up with us.

However sending DJ out on loan at the time was a strange one.

Speaking personally, it's not that I necessarily think Redknapp should have kept us up. It's that I think there is major surgery needed over a long period and I just don't see Redknapp as the manager to do this.

Obviously I don't relish the idea of yet more change, but on this occasion I would have taken it if it looked like we were starting off on a multi-season plan.

Which isn't to say "I hate Redknapp". I don't really think the false binary of "Redknapp lovers" and "Redknapp haters" is particularly useful.

I definitely hate him, maybe dislike at best. Even if I'd love a long-term planner in the role I think he's as good as we can get in the short term. Publicly he'll get my support for that reason. But here, among friends, I'm not going hide my distaste for his selfish comments to the press, his hanging of players at the expense of morale and their resale value, and for treating supporters like we're gullible fools that can't see through his self-serving, miserable twaddle.

I have to say that most of me is pleased that he is staying, for the short term issus that we need to rectify. But I agree with a lot of that. I think self serving sums him up perfectly, although if that still coincides with an improvement for the club as a whole, I can cope with it.

Redknapp might be a self-serving, greedy, up his own arse, wheeler dealing arsehole.... but he is a great club manager, and i'm glad he's staying.

Harry is better than Hughes in nearly every department and after Hughes left, we potentially could of done a lot worse than appoint Redknapp.

Poll: Do you think this current QPR team has got what is takes to go up this year?

- I dont agree with this, I think the first half against Villa proved that when the players were confident and up for it we played really well and looked dangerous. If we had won that game, even that half, I think we would have carried that into remaining games and been safe.

yes, i reckon we'd have probably stayed up had we got that second goal cushion vs villa. Bosingwa's free kick on half time, so ironic how close he came to saving us there.

I don't think he makes selfish comments at all. I think he gets frustrated that he's supposedly managing a team of professional players and some if them can't think for themselves or do even the most basic things.
He can only send a team out with a plan its up to the players to execute it.

Point is the players we had in key positions, I disagree start again we would get relegated purely because of Remy, but its no use having top class full backs if you don't have a spine and we have operated all season very weak in the two key positions on the football field, centre forward and centre back. No offence to Hill but the fact that he is the regular centre back is a problem and the lack of a fit number 9 for pretty much all season was the most serious problem of all. We got relegated because we could not score.

And I think that you have hit the nail on the head.

There are all sorts of reasons for us being relegated. Hughes, mercenaries, under performers etc

But bottom line is that we didn't score many goals

How many times did we all watch an attack fizzle out because there was no one in the box or in an attacking/ goal scoring position?

How many free kicks around the box did we completely waste? Most every one!

How many corner kicks were, to be honest dire? The majority

How many of our penalties did we score?

A toothless attack that was generally inept. That was our Achilles heel. If we had scored just one more goal (or even just one goal) in say 10 matches, we would most probably have gained 6 or 7 draws and maybe 3 or 4 wins. That would have put us well clear.

Next year we have got to have an attacking force and with depth.
