I passed out at the sight of an "on target" Shaun Wright-Phillips shot.

What was the final score ?

That was dross and Sunderland look worse than us. Maybe they'll put in a bid for SWP.

Sounds as if Sunderland were poor on the radio commentary.

Still can't score enough goals.

Exactly , They are playing against 11 pros . They are not going to roll over cos harry turns up.
A solid start .. Need a win Sat now... Cant wait

i'd say a good point, away and with more "go" under harry than previously seen ( since spuds)

Let's not scorn the point. Harry's first game in charge and we get a clean sheet away! Keep the clean sheets coming and the wins will come.

It was always going to be nervy.

Agreed, need to freshen things up, relying on Cisse currently isn't working, however ideally he needs a strike partner I'd say, also sounds we were a bit unlucky especially in the first half

Our fans up there seemed pleased with the performance, good to see the players properly acknowledging them as well.

"Onwards & Upwards"

Must win on saturday.

No that was Chelsea v City the other day

That was painful to watch. Sat in the pub all day on Sunday, 180 minutes of football and 30 quid later, not one goal.

decent performance but worryingly short up front , no idea why houilett didn't come on instead of SWP esp on a wet pitch

but we didn't concede we looks fairly solid

bring on the villa sat , few more days of training with arry might do wonders

This is all very negative from everyone on this board. A point away really not bad at all, especially in mid-week. Can't fault the commitment of the players (excluding Cisse), and we have something to build on for the game on Saturday. Just lacking a little quality in the final third ,from what it seems.

Well said, a clean sheet and a point from a northern away game, that point could be the difference come May.

First clean sheet away since... feck knows.

OK so Sunderland were crap, but beat Villa and that's a good start for 'Arry. Looked like he was going for the draw to me anyway. No need to start going for panicky wins in November.

8pts adrift and 3 weeks too late sadly

I guess if we can't score the best thing is we don't concede, hopefully Harry has seen for himself that Park and SWP are really not up to it

If we do win on Saturday then 4 from the 6 wouldn't be a terrible return as a start, away at Sunderland was always a tricky one, does sound kike they're very low on confidence, whereas Villa 1-0 with 2 mins plus injury time to go... On the other hand Fakes lose and got Man United next

For a team that cannot keep clean sheets, with a new manager, no strike force, and a completely new set up, how that is not a good result, I don't know.
It is pretty much the result one would hope for, and it was relatively comfortable, going 442 with 10 to go, is a positive step, and indicates JOE JORDAN was happy with the back four.
We've also discovered the new Viera, except he's ours and is Called MBIA....the spine is being formed, GREEN, HILL, NELSEN, MBIA....then it goes a bit iffy...Good Start by Harry...

I only watched it on a stream but the Rs support up there sounded 'triffic. All i could hear for the majority of it, apart from the sh/te spouted by that Mackie-hating commentator.
Cisse seemed isolated again, but the defence looked solid, first clean sheet since the scum. Adel tried hard but his passing was poor for the most part, Diakite and Mbia looked good together, Traore was a could be a real threat down the wing if we could get someone to get on the end of his crosses. More solidity, more comfortable on the ball and Green featured without embarrassing himself, Success IMO. 3 points on Saturday please

Looked fairly comfortable throughout, sunderland hardly had a chance, we lacked a bit up front but overall, away from home, far away up north on a wet tuesday night we should be well happy, first away clean sheet this season. Lets be positive
