It seems his mins playing for QPR as a trend are going down per game.
That as a trend.

Lets start with the Stoke game in November when our good run of form began (some may say it was later) to see how the mins on the pitch have gone.

D - Stoke = 61
W - Cardiff = 81
D - Watford = 64
W - Norwich = 67
W - Oxford = 67
D - Bristol = 16
W - Preston = Benched
L - Swansea = 45
D - Norwich = 32
W - Watford = 13
W - Luton = Benched.

Fear my Jack Supple analytical powers!

It looks like he's a sub being considered less and less, with Varane, Colback, Field and Morgan ahead of him. He seems to be only just ahead of EDB at the moment. If he goes higher up the formation, he has to compete with Saito, Chair, Smyth, Frey, Kolli, Llyod and even Andersen.

So, I expect him to start against Leicester so as the others get a rest, probably in for Morgan.

But unless he ups his game a lot, I cannot see a way back for him at the moment.

zzzzzzzzzz

Another bad game and stayed on the pitch far too long. Must admit though, my view through the fog was so bad I was slagging off Madsens positioning and movement at one point to then realise it was Morgan.

Terrible view from the top row, which is normally a great seat.

17 touches my @rse !
Did they include the pre match warm up ?
He just wafts around in the general vicinity of the ball without ever getting near enough to affect the game in the slightest.

That wafting was actually cutting off passing lines through shape I’ll have you know. Do you know nothing about football?

Played like he was stoned.

If he ends up going to the Saudi league he will be if he plays like that.

It's ridiculous to commit millions in transfer fees and a multi-year contract - the biggest outlay in many seasons after years of belt tightening - and not check that the person you're spending that money on is an empty shirt.

I reiterate what I mentioned earlier in the thread - he's still relatively young and you'd assume he can improve in time, but this is an especially low starting point for our biggest investment.

Perhaps he will adapt, settle, and get up to the speed and physicality of English football.

However, it doesn’t look like he will. And, at present, I’d have to concur with an earlier poster that we may talk about his signing in a similar vein as one of our worst in history (in terms of outlay and at a time we had money to invest and chose to buy him), like Ned Zelic.

£3m would get you quite a lot in central midfield in the Championship. We could have used it to sign another forward. 5 year contract too. A hell of a lot of FFP cap space locked up in him.

Today was his chance to make an impression. First start in ages. Strong opposition. Lay down a marker - “this is the standard I can play at” - and he has gone totally missing all game. The wrong sort.

Yeah that's looking like the reality. As I mentioned on Twitter, this is the kind of transfer that can set a club like ours back years.

At least he's young enough that we might recoup something if we move him on, but I don't understand why we'd agree such an outlay for someone so far from being good enough.

I know we'd all love to move him on in any way - either sale or loan - but who would even pay to take him on loan??

Shit but local

He certainly isn't playing well, he doesn't get the ball much and I do not know why he doesn't, I cannot put my finger on it tbh and I normally can!!!!

WLS assessment:

"Nicolas Madsen: 5 - A complete non-performance. At times it was easy to forget Madsen was actually on the pitch."

Nail on head.

I never like to pick out players and from all I hear about the man's character is that he is a decent human being, and I had hoped he could settle and show something,

Celar likewise. Scored a brace then next game was markedly improved.

It's just not happening and this could be one of those signings we just have to write off. Would love to be proved wrong but unfortunately I cannot see this to be the case
