Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Surely the director in charge of finances at the time (who is very much still here, despite that statement) would have had to approve payment to the pitch contractors. Sick to death of him getting an easy ride when he was a large part of Bottomley’s shenanigans.

There is a chance that he could be voted off the board?

If those with a vote have chosen to exercise it, yes

Decent message and clarifies a few matters.
Look forward to the time when they are able to give more detail to the work that is currently going on behind the scenes.

It says in that clip that the pitch laid in 2020 came with a 10 year guarantee, and providing we kept to the installers maintenance instructions, should anything should go wrong with it, then we would get a new pitch.

I think it's time for a statement on what's happening. I seem to recall a similar guarantee on work carried out perhaps 20 years ago when we foolishly did not comply with the instructions (wrong sand?) and thus, we ruined the pitch.

Mind you; the person on the clip is notorious for getting things wrong, so we need to hear from the current Directors.

May as well start it with a request: does anyone know the time it starts? Might have missed it but can’t find much promoting it recently, just this:

Presuming it’s 7.30?

Another reminder to certain people at the club who like to think we’re idiots. We’re not bury or Oldham fans and won’t have our bellies tickled.

I was sucked in by his bullshit once too which I’m not proud of. People always show their true colours eventually though.

Why oh why do we continue to have SG as the face/voice of the club?

Get back to me Simon when you actually achieve something...like that 5000 average crowd.

Unless i'm mistaken, it was integral to the deal worked out by the Ogdens that SG retain his position, and shareholding

The main reason, i suspect, was due to the complete lack of experience within the Ogden family of how a football club is run, but the same applied to SG only a couple of years earlier

In a recent article about Dale in a national.newspaper, SG was described as being "the long-standing Chairman", a perception which is wholly inaccurate

It remains to be seen whether the perception that matters - that of the Ogdens, and CO in particular - is changing; bearing in mind, it could be changing in line with that of SG's perception of the fanbase

It was simply the Ogdens didn’t want to buy SG out

I very much doubt it was that simple

Not looking to over-complicate things here, just that "given" reasons aren't always the full picture... in fact, they very rarely are

Anyroads, all the best for the festive season

Callum and Sir Peter both have MBAs from Harvard, I am fairly sure running a football club is small beer for them, through the Harvard Alumni, they have access to 85,000 of the worlds best and brightest business people. I think they know what decisions to make and when the time is right to make them, having them onboard is like winning the lottery, lets not piss them off with short- term thinking. Turning an oil tanker takes time and space, turning a club with a century of underachievement is not a quick fix, Harvard has a reputation for turning big ideas into big companies and organisations, building deep foundations is step one of the playbook, what follows could be massive for the club and the town, and like Christmas, all good things are worth waiting for... Merry Christmas to one and all!

I'm fully on board with the Ogden agenda

I was responding to wozzrafc's post, and i know what Harvard is about

Short-termism isn't something i care about. If you simply believe the post i was responding to, you - yourself - do them a disservice

All the best
