Tonight’s Match… on 21:52 - Nov 5 by _Windydale | 2 quid in a bit of footy and a few goals. Fringe players and new guys getting some minutes. Quite enjoyed it. Low key. We've a big squad, so I think good to put players out that aren't getting many minutes. Played like a friendly game, but we still wanted to put in a performance, as a result 4 goals. Well done the players. [Post edited 5 Nov 22:18]

Glad it was enjoyable evening. Think I reminisce about the reserve games of the mid 90s which were always a good night and a chance for those not playing much to get time on the pitch. It’s a shame that “old” way isn’t seen as important as providing competitions for clubs in the top divisions to play youth teams. No matter, we played quite well, that’s the main thing for the manager… as long as there were no injuries!

Tonight’s Match… on 20:43 - Nov 5 by pioneer | It doesnt exist according to the fixture list on this site. Under any reasonable interpretation this is a reserve game. Are PL and Champ clubs entering teams in both this comp and the comp v league 1 and 2 teams? |
Tbf, this isn't an official website.

Something new watching a pre-season friendly almost mid season, if we made some money from joining in this meaningless tournament great. If we get to the final great, chrome plated or not. :-) Having entered through the main entrance for the first time. A view of the 1901 lounge, its served its purpose I think. The pies looked good though but I'd already had my tea. I'm looking forward to seeing what the plans are for the renovation of these facilities to take it to the next level. [Post edited 5 Nov 23:10]

Tonight’s Match… on 23:17 - Nov 5 with 3450 views | turnthescrew | It was enjoyable. A good 4-1 win and a good workout for fringe players and those who needed minutes. Another record broken for Hendo and despite the doom-mongers there was a bigger crowd than they predicted. Additionally, any Dale fan in particular (or other fans generally) who actively encourage other fans to boycott their own clubs' games need to give their heads a wobble. Brain dead idiots. It might be a poor competition, but your team is competing. Support them.
Tonight’s Match… on 23:47 - Nov 5 with 3371 views | mikehunt | Enjoyable game. Always great to see us win, Got to see some players I hadn't seen before. Barlow and Okeke stood out for me tonight. Hendo got a full 90 mins. For a couple of quid come and support your team. It doesn't look like these games are going to be too frenetic so I wouldn't be overly concerned about injuries or burnout. Particularly as hardly any first teamers will be playing the full match. Just a bit of a work out and a chance to blood the fringe players and try a few new tactics in a semi-competitive situation. Nowt wrong with that in my view.

It's a competitive domestic cup fixture. Of course his goal counts as surely as if it was the FA Cup. 151 and counting.....

Your support for this farce of a competition is normalising it, in respect of supporting the idea of these B teams infiltrating the FA Cup, Carling Cup, National Leagues etc..because make no mistake that's the ultimate aim. Money talks and this is the start of the slippery slope. The fat cats will throw some scraps on the table but it will be conditional on us accommodating their youth teams into men's football. To suggest it's just about supporting the team isn't looking at the bigger picture further down the line. As a collective all clubs and fans should be standing up to those at the top of the pyramid, not assisting them in their goals. There's a reason why the overwhelming majority of fans and some clubs are boycotting these games, not everybody can be wrong. Of course, we all have choices though and i understand some will watch anything if the team is playing. [Post edited 6 Nov 7:39]

Watch anything? So, I support my team and my club. This is a domestic cup fixture. The players and supporters have no choices to whether the club decides to take part. Why should we abandon them and withdraw support? I want to see my team play at all their various levels, whether first team, youth or whatever. My choice is to support the team.
Tonight’s Match… on 13:21 - Nov 6 with 2558 views | 49thseason | Given the ticketing faffs of recent weeks, I think these sorts of games and probably pre-season friendlies should be included in the Season Ticket and charge an extra £10. The extra £20k or so raised would be worth more than the cash that will be taken from all these games and would add value to the ST and probably increase gates too. It would also reduce some of the ticket office pressures.

Watch anything yes..I'm not knocking you for it, good on you. I have no interest whatsoever in watching us play our opponents B team,/u21/u23s, even more so when you factor in the background to this competition. I know some are though, each to their own. We all support our club, of course you have a choice which games to attend. I'm not bothered about watching the youth team, unlike you, we're all different. That doesn't make me or the other 2000 fans who didn't attend last night a brain dead idiot or a doom monger as you suggested in your previous post. Not sure why you're getting so triggered about it, fans all over the country are boycotting this competition. [Post edited 6 Nov 14:05]

426 was quoted. The lowest in the club’s history. It’s not been a great look to take part, however we are where we are. The club have done themselves few favours, the lack of an interview with the manager before or after the game so far is poor. Fair play to those who went and also to those who chose not to. We all have different views on this competition but there’s no reason we can’t respect why they went or didn’t.

Correct…its an unofficial Rochdale fan site. Any game where one of the participants is limited to which of their players they are allowed to play ( and I dont mean things like being cup tied or suspended) is not a competitive first team game in my way of thinking. And this has nothing to do with Hendos records…club legend who has achieved his standing in the clubs record books through playing in proper competitions. More to the point I wonder why we are using his limited playing time in these sorts of games. Yes his experienced head will be a big help for the youngsters…but should we be managing his game time to the benefit of the first team games (national league and trophy games)?

Nobody mentioned Henderson's achievements! Anyway, regardless of anyone's way of thinking, it is officially classed as a competitive first team game and will be logged as such in all club archives and records. [Post edited 7 Nov 12:05]

Lowest ever attendance smashed for a competitive game. I would have attended if I'd have known it would have been such a historic game😀
