Russell Martin 12:39 - Apr 23 with 6001 views | OptimisticJack | Club need to offer him a new contract immediately. After yesterday's game I'm sure Dehlia Smith would have had a word in his ear and laid the foundations for him to move there when they get rid of Wagner (which could be sooner rather than later). Common knowledge she is a big admirer of Russ even before our masterclass yesterday. As it stands now I guess we would have next to nothing in compensation if this were to happen.

Russell Martin on 17:04 - Apr 23 by guthrieintherain | It's a gamble depends how much faith you have in him I suppose. Without a contract extension we are vunerable to losing him on the cheap. On the other hand if he fails we are stuck with him a tough call for the owners. [Post edited 23 Apr 2023 17:06]

You have been one of the most vocal against him. But in a strange way, you have a go at others for correctly slagging him off… then slag him off in the same post. It’s going to be interesting looking at people’s comments from the last few weeks that they will desperately be trying to pretend they never said. Whereas you could call it as it is and you wouldn’t have to pretend: ‘Lucky man to still be here, underachieved for 2 seasons in a row… has given himself a lifeline by appearing to learn lessons a few weeks from the end of the season, lessons he should have learned 18 months ago. Akin to asking for forgiveness from your maker while on death row’. Will be monitored closely for any reverting to type.

The likes of you; The type that get annoyed when someone presents something with supporting facts that disproves a view given that is designed to mislead. Rather than be grateful someone has taken the time to show their view is reality, you get annoyed because you dislike the poster and instead prefer to take the side of the proven falsity. You’re welcome.

They have a far greater and more loyal fan base than we do. The whole of Norfolk supports them You know where Norfolk is? You were calling for his dismissal not so long ago,as were most We have beaten absolute crap teams and failed to keep the hammer down. No coach can allow this as it bites the bum. Why would I be annoyed you never give me any reason to be so, If you mean by your posts then you'd be wrong. I'd have to read them first and then if I do its a quick skim over. I don't dislike you, I've never met you so not sure why you'd think that. You're possibly a very nice person , who knows

I speak reality. If you didn’t read them you wouldn’t respond to me or talk about me more than any other poster on here. What I say has impact, whether you like it or not. Largely because like me or not, people know deep down that I’m probably right.

Russell Martin on 16:38 - Apr 23 by Dr_Parnassus | God no. 20 months of dross doesn’t get erased by a good 4 weeks at the end of the season. Two wasted opportunities for play-offs. If he has us in and around the playoffs come Xmas time then we can revisit. |
Tend to agree. He'd have been sacked by any other club in our division after the run we were on post Xmas. Why clubs want/need to give long term contracts to Managers especially in this climate is beyond me. 12 month rolling contracts should be enforced by the Football League. On average that's a month longer than the average tenure lasts....

Russell Martin on 12:02 - Apr 24 with 834 views | heatwave | So we are still 12th in the table. We have won 17 lost 16. We have 2 points more than last season at this stage. We have been top 4 and in the bottom 3. The football in our recent run has been good. The football in our poor run was not a good watch. Does anyone see anything more than an average team and average manager? Does that warrant a new contract? If so I'll expect more of the same in future seasons. [Post edited 24 Apr 2023 12:06]

Russell Martin on 13:07 - Apr 24 with 760 views | STID2017 | Personally I feel the club need to sort out what is going to happen in the next window. Unless there is clarity on that then Martin's chances of success next season are up in the air. If we sign no one and lose Manning, Piroe plus Cundle returning to his club, then we will be much weaker than this season.

Losing Piroe will be a major blow but obviously unless he signs a new contract the club has little option, I presume everyone agrees. I’d like to think we will use the loan market better as it’s been a disaster this season. Sorinola Oxo flex Cundle ( to a lesser extent) Still the core of a good championship side.
