Joe Allen: Player Manager 03:29 - Aug 17 with 3410 viewsAndyCole

.

Get rid of Martin and his entire crew debacle. Apparently, by all accounts.

Let's get back to playing the way WE know best.

I know for a fact that Allen was brought back for that purpose - a proper meeting of minds with Allen and Jake.

There's no wonder martin is as agitated and nervous as he appears nowadays. Almost beyond inexplicably fraught, oftentimes.

Why say what you think in one post, when half a dozen or more will do ?
Blaming the manager for what happened in a mad last few minutes is pathetic.
Your diatribe against Martin is unjustified.
Much of that football we saw last night was of a standard last seen in the Man City FA Cup game under Potter.

It's not just last night few minutes though,we can't hold on to leads,as his hame management to change things get more compact ,instead he still plays open and is still going for more goals wgen we are 2.0 up with minutes to go..so yes it is Martins fault, as it just wasn't last night

In fairness though Millwall rarely threatened and were reduced for the most part to taking pot shots from distance.
I feel the players must take full responsibility for their failure to not only see this game out, but to have taken the opportunities they had to increase their lead.

Not even the first time this season and we are only 5 games in. 3 goals conceded in injury time.

Game management is non existent.

Your totally wrong,of course players are on the pitch but are guided by the management, why are we still pushing in 90 minutes with players bombing on..Martin should be instructing get tighter keep the ball take it into corners ,kill time, look for little free kicks throw ins,not carry on being expansive,he's the one who instructs and like I said it's no cos coincidence it keeps happening, whoever on the pitch,it's the managers fault ,game management to dee out games..if player don't listen get them off or fine them simple

The manager has to be held responsible for the weekly collapse.

As for Allen as player manager, the thought had crossed my mind too. No info, just a thought.

Around 4 minutes in to injury time. Millwall have just pulled one back. Congreve releases Obafemi in his own half and he sprints to bare down on goal but is tackled. The ball breaks to Piroe but he can't control it and the ball is lost.
If he heads for the corner and shields it, waits for some support or wins a free kick / throw in then we run down another minute or so on the clock.
Is Martin apoplectic that this doesn't happen? No, he is disappointed we didn't score. Many managers would have gone berserk.
Recently we have gone from 4-1, 3-0, 2-0 and 2-0 to end up with a draw. It happens far too often for it not to be the manager taking responsibility.

I’ve had info, I believe I reported it at the time that he is being brought in with a view to become part of a succession plan with management. Similar to Monk.

Indeed, could have had a few more yellows for their clogging.
But they did close close to scoring during the game.
Not a good team but not bad. We should have closed out the game.

Still too early, we were only a few minutes away from being decent position in the league table.

Even when you know, you never know?

I agree, but this is football sometimes. We scored late on the weekend against Blackpool. I just think two own goals in injury time is a freak occurrence.

Even when you know, you never know?

They weren't a bad side but they offered no great threat until we allowed them back in.
Yes not a club that fills the heart with joy
