Darling, the missing link 22:01 - Jan 16 with 7791 views | AndyCole | . The solid, physical, driving, confident, assured CB we need to Unleash Grimes and Downes of their overly defensive CDM/CB duties. And kick on, in so many ways. Fisher - Darling - Grimes-Downes - Ntcham-Pato - Piroe A winning spine. With Oba's pace, and Joseph's pace and endeavour; Christie's confidence; Kyle's confidence, maturity and know-how; Cabango's ambition; Manning's guile and utility; Bennett's back up. We don't need O'Reilly, unless Pato's off. . .

I think RM was caught well offside with Paterson’s outburst and despite the issues he had to deal with he made the right moves. Just. Was the fine managed by the club ? And then deleted, apparently there’s people out there who know differently. A happy Paterson gets his 9,500 a week, and the swans get a 30 game a season footballer with half of them being memorable. Worth the gamble.

Why are you making up what people have said? Who are you claiming has said Pato wants out? Lies like this should not be allowed on this forum, they are designed to cause conflict. They will never be backed up when asked. The sheer amount of smileys used here shows there is an awful lot of compensating going on with regards to actual content.

Martin has a superb record of getting players to turn the corner ala Pato, Obefami and Piroe......its all about getting the player onside and producing individually and he done that. He never refused to train, he never wanted out and as for not liking Martin....well😂 Unfortunately a lot if advice to players are given by their agents and advised that they do it and told to trust them...it certainly didn't reflect well on Pato and some seen it as a thing to beat Martin with but ultimately it can be said that Pato's agent played a blinder. A lot of these untruths from some on here who have clearly gone into defence/denial mode can now be put to bed and we can hopefully look forward to a totally committed team Pato(agent included). And it was all done without selling a player beforehand that was assured was required first by people ITK 😂

Who purchased Piroe then AC?! Stab in the dark there son, no substance with the Piroe line and delivered with a sheer lack of class at the time also. There is an old saying.... Treat those the way they would treat you.

That is very true OHL and hopefully one day AC and P will learn to take that on board and learn from within rather than ignore their own flaws before highlighting others. If people carry throwing stones in glass houses and all that.

Which flaws? You made an error on your ST thread so have now resorted to making up what others have said in order to deflect your own embarrassment. I ask again, who said Pato wants out? In your own time.

Darling, the missing link on 16:14 - Jul 24 with 867 views | AndyCole | . After the Flaps' irritating little distraction, derailing yet another proper discussion thread due to his child-like need for attention - back on topic.: Darling - the missing link. Lots of high hopes by many, incl now the wider fanbase as per WoL article etc. Although being one of the hopeful of Darling replacing Cabango as RM's go-to #1 central CB, a few notables are now rightfully getting a tad concerned he needs lots more time to make the step up. Despite all his potential, his biggest weakness right now is his inner confidence: - failed to make the grade in academy football 'til late - perennial rejection for not being good enough technically is a big dent at a young age - only came into his own when youth/ senior football in the lower leagues morphed into big brutes that could make the step up; where (smaller) technical players were discarded -inner confidence playing at an ever more higher level will be a strain To date with us he's not shown the Darling of L1 fame. He's not the same player and ydy was telling in so many ways. He's a cool, laid back character but will have his inner demons. For me I hope the senior players like Grimes continue to take him under their wing and smooth the transition he's clearly struggling with. Pato so far is doing a fine job at this, I hear. We are desperate for a proper commanding, controlling football-playing CB. Clearly Cabango isn't it, and fortunately we now have Wood who I know is a player Russell is massively impressed with - exceeding expectations. The Darling buds of a new season need to flourish and blossom, with a vital dose of inner confidence to fuel the step up. . .

How many has Martin failed to develop and he almost lost Piroe and Obafemi early on. While I like what Martin is trying to do I really can’t see him as a manager who develops talent. Early days but Wood and Darling were not at all commanding. Even playing as a pair, something both are familiar with and is more traditional, Charlton were able to look good. TBH I think Wood is more suited to the role Downes played last season … but not as well.

Wood not quite ready for that deep DCM/CB role - but has massive potential from what I know and what I've heard. Would like to see BC5 flourish, despite not because of Martin and the way in which he doesn't develop young players. A back three with youth, pace, athleticism and proper direction should always blossom here. Fair play to BC5 for digging in and fighting back against RM's initial flawed assessment. Darling is the key to nurture, to core to build upon.
