NFR NFL play offs 11:29 - Jan 10 with 13456 views | pioneer | Some interesting play off games… will the bengals end their play off drought (31 years without a post season victory)? will Big Ben pull off one huge shock in his swansong for the steelers will the bills overcome the Pats 59 years after the only previous play off match up in the frozen tundra of orchard park (off course they will! Lets Go Buffalo) One big weekend coming up.

Must admit I agree - adding 2 more lambs to the slaughter just to get more tv revenue wasn't a good idea imho - 12 was enough for post-season and this is subtraction by addition. Crazy season. No really dominant teams, the "any given Sunday" broke all records and parity certainly looks more apparent than most seasons I can remember. From a personal p-o-v, Fins swept the Pats and had back-to-back winning records then had their HC fired so adding that to the Jax loss @ Spurs, it's not been a season to remember ..... just like every other this milennium! We are interviewing your OC Daboll for HC (as are many others). He's the favourite with the bookies - current odds below: Daboll +300 Pederson +500 Bieniemy +500 K Moore +650 Leftwich +700 N Hackett +700 Bowles +700 J Brady +1000 K O'Connell +1000 D Ryans +1200 J Harbaugh +1200

NFR NFL play offs on 16:06 - Jan 11 with 8420 views | isitme | Wildcard weekend usually disappoints with most of the division winners winning quiet comfortably against the wildcard teams. It could be different this weekend, especially in the NFC games, although the Bills and Pats game could be close If Jones can recover his early season play. I am going for: Bengals Bills Buccs Cowboys Chiefs Rams I am surprised Flores has gone and Judge has not. Grier has definitely won the power battle their, eventhough he picked the wrong quaterback. Some interesting coaching vacancies.

And I would love to see Big BEn go out on a high. A day at Heinz Field is a wonderful experience.

I would go with your predictions, but think the Pats may sneak it over the Bills. Some of the other games could be blow outs. Like DL says, the extra team hasn't added anything other than some extra money for the NFL What can I say about the Browns other than FFS !!!. Lot's of talk about a possible Super Bowl, and they end up 8-9 & only 3rd in their division ( would have been 4th but for the Ravens having an unbelievable injury/COVID situation & losing their last 6 ). Baker Mayfield would expect to be replaced, however there may be no-one available to take his place. Due to having one of the worst passing games in the NFL, some of the start defence, OL, even RBs may start to think about pushing for moves in the next few years if next year proves to be just as unproductive in terms of point scoring MVP for me is Kupp, although it will go to Rodgers or Brady 7 coaches and a number of GMs already gone ( includingJudge now). Browns are keeping Mayfield for another year before he hits free agency and either gets a mega contract from the Browns or goes to another team. Where will the Alabama QB be going after he picks up the Heisman? WC weekend, seems to be the way. In the college game they want to go from the final 4 to a 8 or 12 team playoff. Entirely pointless as both final 4 games were absolute blowouts. For closer games include more of the SEC teams, who just dominate college football. Agree with most picks except for: 49ers - feel they are rolling and took them at 40-1 two weeks ago to win SB and have a hell of a RB. Bills - stopped screwing up Cardinals - JJ Watt is back, DeHopkins still out but it depends on how many 4th downs they go for in their own half (Casino coaching at its finest) but the optics are against them. The ideal scenario is that they get smashed, the coach loses his job, incoming coach realises that the Kyler Murray (who would be a brilliant shortstop in baseball) at 5 ft 7 is too small and they invest in a QB with height ala Deshaun Watson or Aaron Rodgers as that team is built to win now. Jim Harbaugh to end up at the Bears, apparently Flores got ditched from Miami for poor communication and creating silo's etc but still surprised me.
NFR NFL play offs on 05:39 - Jan 14 with 7997 views | jokerthief | All the wild card games will go the way of the home team, except the last one. If JJ Watt is fit and returns for the Cardinals, expect a disaster for the Rams. As the Super bowl is played at their home ground in Inglewood. Hated the fact that Beckham got another chance in L.A.

Speaking of extra money:
Say no more. Advertising is one of the main reasons the Texans could jettison Culley after a year and he walks with $22m whilst being added to the HC vacancies list. And the cap increases year on year. Tough year to go looking for a new QB by all accounts (I don't follow college) but the new crop doesn't seem like it contains any wunderkids. The Pats/Bills match up looks like it will be played in frigid conditions so could increase the chances of a "lottery" outcome (and arguably make Allen less of a factor depending on how bad it is ..... sorry Pioneer) - I did find this proposed "solution" hilarious!

Going back to the the ‘four peat’ superbowl losses in Buffalo they played the Raiders in the play offs one year in the frozen tundra of Orchard park in what was the coldest ever NFL game. I think it was something like -15 degrees. In typical US fashion they got blokes from a homeless shelter to shift snow from the seats in exchange for free tickets and a hot meal! The Bills clobbered the Raiders. I was at a mid december game v Broncos around same time when it was about 0 degrees and snowing. John Elway came out for one series, threw an interception and then left the game. Mind you I saw something similar at Bolton, an ealy feruary game during Boltons prem years. Anelka came out in the warm up wrapped in layers of clothing. Started the game and then went down in the most innocuos of tackles in the first 5 mins and left the game. Lets go Buffa-snow

Josh Allen was top drawer especially that opening TD that set the game up. Game done by the end of the first half Bengals have really found an offence. Burrow is excellent but they also have a great RB and 2 or 3 top receivers. The defence is decent too. Browns so far behind Ravens & Bengals in the AFC north :-(

Had a quick look at that game, only because I thought the coldest was in GB. A more youthful version of myself and my best mate took off for the States in 1990. We got tickets for the GB vs SF game @ Lambeau then the travel agent went bust so we missed out on the rest of the tickets for the trip. Watched the Bears (staying with a Bears-fan host) vs Falcons on tv, then flew up to Denver for their game vs Bears @ Mile High then down to the new JR stadium to watch Fins vs Raiders on MNF. Got Broncs tickets from box office and blagged Fins tickets @ face value from an old couple who were just about to sell to a 6' 6" tout (wouldn't do that now). We lost. Anyway, between the Packers and Bears game we went up to Canada, back through Niagara and home via Canton and saw the display for the Ice Bowl game @ GB. Believe it or not, that Bills game was relatively mild at a balmy 0 degrees F but it did make the 3rd coldest adding in the wind chill! https://www.nfl.com/photos/coldest-games-in-nfl-history-09000d5d824da7dd Thought you might like to see the Bills Mafia post match celebrations!
I was made up for the Bungles and they were my "second team" back in the day when Boomer was in his pomp. I'll certainly be rooting for them vs Titans after they knocked the Fins out of the play-offs and Burrow seems to have a maturity beyond his years. Loved to see the Bills annihilate the Pats. Massively tough game for your boys vs "isitme's" Chiefs this weekend. Tie of the Divisional round for me, though the Packers 9ers should be good if Jimmy G makes it onto the field. Gridiron Twitter polls were 6/6 last weekend.
The poll currently have Titans, Packers, Bucs and Bills to advance. I probably favour the Chiefs marginally, but that one is tough to call.

The problem for the Chiefs, due to their success over the past 2 years, is that AFC teams are built to beat them as they know they will have to play them at some point. Agree with all picks bar Bucs, just looks like they had a key injury on the OL, Fournette probably out and Stafford is playing for his career and the Rams are the ultimate built for winning now and not being 1 year away. If Rams do go out then I expect Stafford to be replaced with Rodgers in the off season.

All the dross teams were eliminated at the Wild card stage. You could make an argument for all 8 teams in these games and even for the Super Bowl. 4 great matchups. Because of time zones the Bucs/Rams will be the game I will watch live on TV & I think that is the hardest to call. If Stafford can cut out the mistakes then every chance, but if the Bucs defence can keep it tight then I think they will edge it. Same with the Bills/Chiefs game. If Allen plays anything like last week then they win it, it but not sure he can get to that level again. Even though I am a browns fan, I wouldn't begrudge the Bengals a win & Burrow has been brilliant this year. Their WRs have really stepped up too. Can't see the Packers losing unless Rodgers has a 'Mare & Jimmy G/Debo & the defence play out of their skins

Id love to see bills playing bengals next week. Always liked the bengals…..its that helmet. They were the second team I saw play the Bills back in the SB years…Monday night game at orchard park with Jim Kelly and Boomer airing it out. First Bills game was against the Pats with Flutie in a Pats jersey before his defection/rebuild in the CFL. Cant see Rams doing the Job. Having watched Stafford at Detroit for years he has always got a game changing brain fade in him. Shame cos he has a lot of talent but not the brain to match. Watch him prove me wrong now!
NFR NFL play offs on 09:31 - Jan 22 with 7101 views | isitme | This is usually the best round of the playoffs. Last week's games were pretty much walkovers bar the Cowboys and 49ers. This week the games are much closer and both teams could win in any of the match ups. Burrow and Chase are on fire, but the Benglas defense is not that great. Henry is back, but how fit and Tannehill is probably the worst of the remaing quaterbacks. Often these games come down to a few crucical third downs. The Packers should win as should the Bucs, although with two injuries on the line Donald could feast. I agree that Stafford is prone to a brain fade. The game of the weekend is undoubtedly the Chiefs versus the Bills. The Bills were excellent last week in putting away the Pats. No doubt the week 5 game will be upmost in supporter's minds, although the Chiefs commited four turnovers , including a pick six and were missing Jones, Clark and Gay. The key for the Chiefs is to try and contain Allen's runs and Gay could be cruicial in that regard. On offense, no turnovers and take what is on offer. I would not be surprised to see a higher proportion of running plays than usual, especially behind Thuney, Humphrey and Smith if the BIlls play soft in the secondary. Hopefully it is a good weekend of viewing for the neutral.

Tannehill's interceptions really cost the Titans In the second game it looked the Packers were in control right from the start, especially with Jimmy G's interception in the red zone but then they stopped throwing to Adams and the 49ers defense stepped up. Packers not so special, special teams cost them in the end with the blocked punt and field goal. The big winners were the Chiefs and Bucs who can seal another home game if the take care of business.

Couldn't believe the Packers result after watching the first 10 minutes. That turnover was critical as it switched momentum and the 49's defence & special team took over. Jimmy G didn't have a great game but that blocked punt, returned for 6 was a sensational moment Burrow sacked 9 times but didn't lose his bottle The kickers club will be downing a few tonight.

What a weekend. The first 3 games are won by the underdogs with the last kick of the game. The Bucs Rams game would have gone down as a classic if it wasn't for what happened in the last game especially if the Bucs had completed the comeback. However we had the Chiefs v Bills, one of the best playoff games in history. 2 great quarterback performances 24 points in the last 2 minutes !!! Bills go up by 3 points with 13 seconds left & the Chiefs on their own 25. 2 Mahomes passes and a long field goal and we are in OT. You knew when the Chiefs won the toss what was going happen Gutting for the Bills ( & Pioneer) but 2 QBs who have both enhanced their legacy. One of the best games I have ever seen - would have been a great Super Bowl matchup The Chiefs will be happy the way the other 3 games went, red hot favourites now with Mahomes back to his best [Post edited 24 Jan 2022 6:32]

Was rooting for the 9ers to lose as we have their 1st round pick this year. Oh dear. So fins. Had we not screwed up our tank three years ago and beaten the Bengals we would have had Burrow now (probably). As you say though, 3 walk-off FGs to decide games all won by the road dogs was a fantastic hors d'oeuvres for the main course last night. I called it a night at HT as I had an important early Teams meeting that I couldn't turn up for half asleep. It finished in time for me to sneak down and watch the highlights replayed this morning. Breath-taking. Three lead changes inside the 2-minute warning. Absolute heart-breaker for Allen, all Bills (and their mafia including Pioneer). Agree with everything you say about that game. There are not enough superlatives in the English language to do it justice. Still can't believe all the twists and turns. The slightly incongruous thing is that the best team in football has now been decided and the Conference Championships haven't even been played yet. As you say, with all the upsets surely the road to the SB is paved Chiefs red and white? Up the page, watford dale suggested that teams are built to stop Mahomes and the Chiefs. On their day, I actually don't think that is possible. They have too much talent. Mahomes is the Ronnie O'Sullivan of the gridiron. Others have had more success historically, but in terms of pure, raw, natural talent, he has no equal. He threw for 177 yards AFTER the 2 minute warning! Coming from a fan of Marino, there is no greater compliment I can pay. Edit: I also have some sympathy with this view.

NFR NFL play offs on 13:04 - Jan 24 with 6423 views | isitme | The bizarre thing is that after the Chiefs were on the receiving end of the overtime rules against the Pats in the AFC title game they raised it at the owners meeting at the beginning of the next season to get it changed, but nobody else supported them and their proposal was dropped. It is a horrible way to lose a game.
