Swansea City v Peterborough United : Matchday Thread 2021/22 AFTERMATH 23:09 - Oct 24 with 21341 views | NotLoyal | The beautiful land of Peterborough, caught up in the Soke of Northampton, this antique replica of something yet to be discovered, in original terms, a town, in every day terms a dodgy toe nail hanging on to the cleft pallet of a donkeys bum. Oh, it’s what we do on here, it’s our way of welcoming our opponents. The Posh Although the present club did not come into being until 1934, the 'Posh' name first came to the fore a decade earlier, almost certainly stemming from Pat Tirrel, player manager of Fletton United, a previous user of the present club's London Road ground, who announced in close season of 1921 that he was looking for 'Posh players for a Posh team' to compete in the Northamptonshire League (later the United Counties League). Fletton, previously known as the 'Brickies,' re-formed as Peterborough and Fletton United in 1923 and both nicknames were in use through the 1920s, although supporters complained that 'Posh' references were sometimes used by newspapers in a derisory manner. Peterborough and Fletton United folded in 1932, the present club was formed two years later and a Midland League debut against Gainsborough Trinity on 1st September 1934 was greeted with cries of 'Up The Posh' from the crowd. Did you know ? Victoria ( my heads in my arse) Beckham challenged Peterborough United registering their club nickname as a trademark in 1998 ? It obviously didn’t work as they are still called The Posh today, and she is a washed up old deckchair. Celebrity gimp, VIctoria Beckham who thinks she is bigger than a whole community The Posh Peterborough United are a small club that do cock waving splendidly well. They will see this game as a cup final against the divisions ‘pass masters’ After many seasons in the Premier League the swans have been targets for teams to play above themselves when they visit Wales. Such is the way clubs hold Swansea in high esteem. If it wasn’t for that the swans would have won all their games. They are favourites to win this game for sure. The people of Peterborough land are called gimps, and the town itself is recognised as one of the worst town's to live in. Voted by the very people who live there. Peterborough is actually in Canada. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56110/lee-trundle-scores https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56115/darren-ferguson-be https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56120/russell-martin-set https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56129 https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/56131/swansea-city-are-o More to Follow

Swansea City v Peterborough United : Matchday Thread 2021/22 AFTERMATH on 18:35 - Oct 30 with 1381 views | Badlands | We won’t see an easier game all season. Wonderful performance but Posh didn’t turn up. It was quite literally a stroll, a practice match and tbh our crowd watched as it was a training session. For me Naughton was MOM. Grimes played well😳 Paterson was off form. Everyone else was on top form. Awful ref and the West lino was his usual indecisive self. The squirrel was amazing.

Swansea City v Peterborough United : Matchday Thread 2021/22 TEAMS on 18:24 - Oct 30 by Catullus | This, but to which I'll add, this is still a transition season. We can't expect this every week because we won't play Peterborough every week. They came here and tried to play the same style as us but we were much better at it. We started the game well, got a good lead and then managed the rest of the game very well. Apart from one or two moments and a very good save by Hamer, they didn't trouble us. We won't have as easy a ride as that every week and Coventry Tuesday will be a different prospect entirely. Anybody who is now saying we are definitely good enough is jumping the gun but we are still improving and we are definitely getting there. Now we have to add the consistency. It was great to see so many people leaving the stadium with big smiles. |
You can't mention transition mun

Haha - 5+ hour journey. - team concede before any of their players touch the ball. - section of their support gets drenched by an errant sprinkler! - team dominated and soundly beaten. - rape alarm? thrown in air as fans leave. - fan falls down steps. - 5+ hour journey back.

Two things that stood out today was Bennett becoming more comfortable in the system and how fitter the players are looking. Going in the right direction for sure. |

Agree with your post, not that we were that troubled at the back ( from attack to defence we played a flat 6 at times) Going forward players were always making themselves available for the ball and I was surprised how little Posh pressed us and when they did and won the ball the turnover was almost instantaneous and on we went relentless .But for some good saves by Cornell and a dubious non decision by the ref and linesman we deserved more than the final shoreline . Total dominance and a great work man like performance

3 points most important stat....that's been missing despite high possession and pass stats....the 3points are the stat that matters....goals came from long through passes...Martin is learning and evolving his "style" resulting in wins....great performance today even toom our foot of the gas in the second half...

YEAH.Good win but the first thought for some is to have a dig at other fans. Pitiful Reality is Posh were dire and should have been put to the sword . They wern't.

Reality is they lost , we had 3 points , no injuries, players forming better understanding of each others movements , they worked their socks off in the rare moments when they lost the ball and a good day all round . May I suggest treating yourself to a positive pill , you know it makes sense.

There will be many a team higher than us in the league who would take a 3-0 win at home against Peterbrough. Also as the season moves on, we would gladly take a scrappy 1-0 win against a team lower than us in the league. Today was a good day..... Enjoy it.

Regarding the rugby , we got what was expected, nothing , it was men against very small boys I'm afraid .Our disciple was poor giving away needless penalties , couldn't win our own line outs and out thought and at times out muscled by a beast of a rugby nation. But all that is insignificant because although I like watching it and played it many moons ago the Swans come first and we did today .
