A timely thread, as my 3 and 5 year old are addicted to the new film Trolls World Tour.

If you haven't seen it (and I assume nobody without kids has seen it), the basic plot is that all music is sh-t apart from hard rock. Now I don't agree with that premise, but it could be worse given the alternatives available that they used to like.

As a result these are now my kids new favourite three songs. Not the pinnacle of the genre, but I've been enjoying headbanging round the kitchen:

From Deep Purple to Heavy Glam

Love this mob.

I used to try and look just like David Coverdale but without the chest hair. My sister used to curl my long locks

captains fantastic

This one should be in that thread of oldies played millions of times but still great, everybody likes that song. The quintessential Rock song for me would be this bad boy:

it's a shame they have to dress so embarrassingly awful, not sure why.

Loved Thin Lizzy. I thought Lynott was a fantastic songwriter and great front man. Sadly missed.

I met him once in the Klubfoot Hammersmith on a St. Pats night shindig. He was drinking green lager and had a green condom as an earring. Cait O'Riordan & Elvis Costello were there too, along with most of the Pogues. It ended up as a cross between a jam session with artists getting up and down to play all night and an acapella karaoke. I don't remember too much about it but a great night out.

The grass is always greener.
