Believe the end of season pitch works have been delayed till next week as (once again) we are now without a Head Groundsman? Anyone confirm?

I suspect you know the answer.

Heard it as hearsay, albeit from a good source, hence asking if anyone can confirm.

<<“We were informed that Premier Pitches Limited were due to start work on the pitch on May 20th. Premier Pitches were responsible for a number of pitches at League One level, with Peterborough and Bristol Rovers cited as examples. as usual as agreement has been reached with Hornets not to play on the pitch once the work has started until an agreed date of 30th June.”>>

Work was due to have started five days ago.

Just a guess, but the OS article referring to the success of hiring out the pitch to the community in recent weeks ends with stating work starts next week. Maybe giving all interested parties chance to use it?

Could be right there. There was obviously a change to the plans since the meeting with the Trust on the 7th

Well done the Club for raising some loot from it's best asset.......won't pay for all the work but it helps.

Now, have you ever thought of owning your own car park space at San Spotty?

Be careful, you'll be opening a can of worms again...

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

It's the right time of year for the groundsman to be drilling his holes and planting his seed.

Premier Pitches were ensconced at Turf Moor earlier this week...perhaps we are next in line?

Yeah, I was told he was found " discussing Uganda " with another member of staff during a game, allegedly of course ! I take my hat off to him.

Has anyone seen how the pitch work is going when picking up season tickets this week?
There’s usually coverage on the OS/twitter etc but not seen anything, may have missed it.

The original information ( https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2019/05/minutes-from-meeting-with-directors/ ) had work to start on May 20th with mention made of it being completed and the pitch being sorted so Hornets can play on the 30th June; wonder if waiting a week to start the work would mean they may have to rearrange that match scheduled for the end of the month?

I agree. It is this type of information that engages supporters and probably not that difficult to put together. It's the little things done well that add up to make the difference.

And continuing the theme from earlier in the thread, it's great to see that things are being stood upright prior to fertilization

I came past the car park the other day and there were mounds of what appeared to be recently removed topsoil/grass in one corner and mounds of what appeared to be sand in the other corner. The pitch had been scraped prior to the next step in the process, whatever that is.
