The players need to start believing in themselves again. Can someone get Gerry Francis to talk to the players... Maybe even a chat, one on one, with every single player? QPR has had one England Captain and other England players... No reason why we can't have another, but it has to start somewhere.

Lovely idea which would appeal to biirch or gallen if they were still playing. Guarentee 7/8ths of the squad has never heard of him.

Maybe... but easily fixed.
I saw first-hand how much he cares for the club at the Stan Bowles event.
It would not hurt to try. Clearly the current psychology of winning isn't winning.

Nice idea but past his sell-by date and would sully his legacy. Let's not ruin his legendary status.

I've always found it's a real shame he isn't around more.

When i think of what sums up QPR better than anything else, i think Gerry Francis.

Risible, egregious nostalgia! I love Gerry for his playing career with us, and his first spell as manager. Latterly, though, if memory serves, he effectively took us down, though resigned before the trapdoor opened so as not to besmirch his CV. My memories of that 0-2 defeat at Port Vale in 1998/99 (when we stayed up by the skin of our teeth after Palace apparently threw the match in that ridiculous 6-0 at LR) still sometimes wakes me up at night.

I don't know about anyone else, but, whatever the arguments for showing Schteve the door, I feel on tormented tenterhooks now for the rest of the season. I think it's entirely likely we could get anything between 0-4 points from our final games, and will that be enough if Rotherham mount a late charge for safety? I wouldn't bet a chocolate bar on it right now.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

GERRY FRANCIS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY! All the way to the tube station, on the platform and then on the tube.
I really miss those days

Poll: Why are you a QPR supporter?

Don't talk to me about the tube!

Last night, going up the escalator from the tube to Euston concourse, I saw adverts for "Happy Harry's" latest money spinner advert.

How does he keep doing it?

I thought you were asking for Gerry Cottle

Then I realised he’s got his own circus to run

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

For once, I have some inside "knowledge" but feel free to pour scorn on it because it is not first hand info about Gerry. Phil Parkes lives near me and I spoke to him about six months ago about Rangers - he was very happy to chat about us, at length - and I asked him about Gerry one day coming back to manage us. Phil's view - and he claims he is in regular contact with Gerry - is that Gerry would not be up for it.

I feel we need to move on anyway. Let's find someone who is on the up, with some coaching ability, the right mentality to work with players whose confidence is shattered, and who will do the job with pride and dignity and represent our club well, rather than treat us as beneath him (or her) and distance himself from us (see also: Redknapp, H).

I am thinking in terms of an up and coming overseas coach plus Derry or Bircham.

I have been a staunch supporter of Sir Les but if we appoint Sherwood, he no longer has my vote. Gilet Man would be a lazy and inappropriate choice.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Poor old Gerry would walk in to his first meeting with the squad, swiftly followed by his snow white mullet and all the young first team squad players would sit there thinking "is that geezer serious with that barnet?" - He will have lost the dressing room before he has even found it

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

Which would only demonstrate what a shower of over-paid narcissistic dickheads most modern players are. The man was England captain, and QPR captain when we were the best team in the land.

Yep, QPR's strategy and Gerry's mullet are both well out-of-date.
