Magic number in the Championship? 08:08 - Aug 20 with 2805 views | JethroJack | We've been using the 40pt "safety total" for the past 7 seasons as a minimum target. Statistically, what's the (assumed) magic number in the Championship? How's about if we say 46/38 x 40 = 48pts? If we beat Leeds, we'll be 5th the way there after just 4 games 😊 COYY(oung)JB's

With our young side, its being realistic & keeping perspective & nothing to do with lack of ambition. Some on here expect us to nose dive into League 1, so let's keep it real for once.
Magic number in the Championship? on 08:54 - Aug 20 with 2690 views | Glyn1 | I would call it being realistic rather than sad. In the last 5 seasons, 80 points have been enough to at least get into the Play Offs, and 52 points were enough to avoid relegation. Put it another way, if we get 6 points in every 5 matches, then we're on course to avoid relegation. If we get 9 points in every 5 matches, we're on course for promotion.
