1975 v Tranmere then first game at the Liberty was against Tranmere as well.

That was circa 1979. I cant check right now as I am at work but I think Dai Gwyther scored a hat trick for Rotherham that day ( An ex Swan)
My first game was Boxing day 1975. The first game I remember was Feb 76, we got tonked at Home by Exeter. ( Alan Beer - another ex Swan -tormented us that night.)

Ok I checked. It was 12th Sept 1978. We scored 4 goals in consecutive home games.

Its just a ride.

1980
First Game: Swans 1 1 Notts County 13 Sept

The ref got knocked out and there was a request over the tannoy - 'is there a referee in the crowd' and someone from the crowd replaced a linesman who then did the reffing.

That would have been either the Sheffield United or Stoke replays.

I’m pretty sure my first game was the replay against Sheffield United,Tuesday, 28th January 1964.( I have the programme in front of me as I type . Tangerine in colour .4d. That’s fourpence in old money.😳)
Probably not a regular until 66/67.
The programme has an advert for The Bombay Grill inside.

I think a 2-0 win against Bradford City, or a 1-0 defeat against Port Vale (hated them ever since) in 1971 or 72 I can’t remember which way around or even if there was one I saw before then. I vaguely remember Glen Davies playing in a game where we didn’t score and I thought he was Dai Gwyther, as I had never seen Dai play!

The game I remember most is one I didn’t see. We drew 1-1 with Brentford in the cup (I saw that, can still smell the cigar smoke in the VPs stand), but being 12 I couldn’t go to the replay and listened to the scores on the radio. Heard “Brentford 2” before interference kicked in. Still remember the pride and joy when my dad told me it was 3-2.

God. A lifetime of memories.

1973 I suppose. Moved abroad between 1971 and 1973 but the first game I genuinely remember at the Vetch was the international against N.Ireland with Best in 1970. I'd been to watch the Swans a couple of times before that but was more preoccupied kicking a tin can around amongst the puddles at the bottom of the North Bank than supporting the team.
