Match thread: Southend home on 20:39 - Mar 13 with 6155 views | RobinHoodDale | Watching BBC live text, time stood still for 10 minutes; between 29 and 39 minutes, every other League 1 game was ticking by but the clock stopped for Dale's match. Felt as though as I was holding my breath for far too long and then suddenly there were was a burst of reporting as Inman and Cannon both went close. Fitzochris and his Dambuster mode seems to have said it all so far. Conversions in the second half please !

Sure, I get that but the relative effort involved and the way we are playing now ....... I just hoped for more tonight after the cup run and consecutive away wins

Match thread: Southend home on 21:55 - Mar 13 with 5641 views | Daley_Lama | They came They defended We huffed We started to run out of puff They attacked We huffed a bit more They nearly scored The whistle went. Take out the word ‘nearly’ and look down the road. Clean sheet, a few half chances. Expect Dons and Fleetwood to approach the game in a very similiar fashion.

Match thread: Southend home on 22:04 - Mar 13 with 5531 views | Shun | Not a bad performance, but not as good as we have been playing. We were the better sides and controlled much of the game, but the chances we had we weren’t anywhere near clinical enough with and I don’t remember either keeper being troubled too much. Dobre terrifies defenders because he runs at them with pace. I’d love to see what he can do with a start on Saturday, ideally at the expense of Inman.

Do you think we need to change the starting line up for Saturday? Davies and Dobre to start, maybe? I wasn’t there tonight, just interested to see if it was one of those games or if changes need to be made

As long as davies is in the shape he is, he shouldnt start another game.. I’d give dobre a chance, whats the worst that could happen? We are virtually down, so we may as well at least have a go.. [Post edited 13 Mar 2018 22:12]

Match thread: Southend home on 22:14 - Mar 13 with 5426 views | 442Dale | A point on the back of the last two results isn’t a bad one at all. We can’t be seeing it as a big let down because it’s still a point nearer the targets we need to hit and one week ago we were 12 points from safety, now it’s 6 and we still have games in hand. Still looking at 43 points as a minimum going into the last 5 games (with four at home), so it’s 10 points required from the next 8. [Post edited 13 Mar 2018 22:31]

Good call. Inman was anonymous when we needed personality Frustrating evening, crowd about what I expected. Good support from those there, not expecting any comments about negativity That's about it. There will be plenty of similar home games which we need to find a way of winning [Post edited 13 Mar 2018 22:25]

That last point’s an important one and will have a huge influence on what division we’re in next season. I think the reason our away form has improved lately is that we’ve become more offensive, yet at home when teams are naturally more guarded against us we struggle to break them down. The amount of home draws we’ve had this season makes that plain to see. If we don’t find a way to start being more clinical then we’re going to continue drawing games we really should be winning.

Good point about breaking defences down too. Our home league games seem to have settled into a pattern where we press the opponent when they have the ball and attack when we have it, but around the hour mark, we seem to run out of ideas and steam (like vs MK Dons) and the subs we make don't have the impact we need them to. I'd give Dobre a start and at least a half on Saturday too. We need to become a bit less predictable. That includes all the square balls and back passes which invite teams on to us at the end of games. Disappointing we weren't able to keep up our winning ways, but 7 points from the last 9 with our previous record and our league position at least keeps us in it and we live to fight another day.
