Clement going nowhere on 18:29 - Nov 20 by JethroJack | Ok, the consensus is we're now definitely going down, hard to argue otherwise. Next question, if we stick with PC (like Burnley stuck with Dyche) can we jump back up like Burnley did? Huge stretch of the imagination needed, but Dyche seems to have got things sorted....eventually! |
simply No. | | | |

On the basis we would never score more than a goal every two games, and can't defend a Jack Cork header, it would be a tough task. [Post edited 20 Nov 2017 18:41]

We'd be in a totally different situation to Burnley and Dyche. When they went down they kept the continuity of the team, which was basically still a Championship squad, and the manager who had experience of getting out of that league. We'd be in the Sunderland camp, having to get rid of a load of underperforming Premier players, then rebuild with a Championship squad. Does Clement have experience of that? God help us.

Don't need experience of that, Huw will have it sorted

This in spades. When Burnley came up they almost deliberately went down again with the same group of players. They had a fecking long term plan. We are in a far, far worse position than Sunderland last year. I'm almost tempted to go to the Bookies and ask for odds on us being in League One by August 2019. [Post edited 20 Nov 2017 19:27]

Clement going nowhere on 19:59 - Nov 20 with 1403 views | ymaohyd | Not only do I think we will go down, I also think we'll go down as one of the worst ever Prem teams. The club have allowed us to sleep walk into developing a squad that is mediocre at best. As for Clement? If he was a pivotal figure in this summers transfers then I can't see a long term future for him. If he was on the periphery and he can take a more central role then I would stick with him even if we go down. Structure of the club needs to change though. Clement given more power, Jenkins out, a new DOF chosen by Clement.

Clement going nowhere on 20:50 - Nov 20 with 1326 views | PatchesOHoulihan | Probably already said in this thread but at least under guidelin we looked like we had the potential to do something as we were losing to the big boys We are showing NOTHING at the moment which shows something may change. We're not a lucky win away from going on a run of wins, we're a win away from another run of defeats getting closer to relegation. There's nothing in our performances to suggest that we will be safe, and it's November While I appreciate that clement can't be accountable for everything but he is the one picking the team and selecting our tactics which means he responsible for in the pitch right now Anyone who picks Leroy Fer as DM and can't find a place in the entire squad for Britton or Mesa ihas clearly lost the plot. (If brits was injured I take that back - tough to keep track of his injuries)

Clement going nowhere on 21:25 - Nov 20 with 1235 views | jacabertawe | Clement's failings as a manager aside, he is trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear of a a team. We have far too many players who are just not good enough at Premiership level (Fer, Naughton, Carrol, Clucas, etc.). These may have to be moved on, but not likely in January when PC is hoping to bring new players in.

We've become a team of relegated players and casts offs in a completely different mound to the cast offs with potential we used to have Don't you remember when people used to make a name for themselves at swansea as it was a great team to play in.......seems a million miles away

I don't mind the thought of a team with relegated players, as long as they are the best performers that didn't deserve to be relegated. Look towards Grosicki , Markovic and Maguire for Hull.

At least you had the decency GTC Jack not to mention what sort of expensive car he drives which would have depressed me even more......shocking state of affairs!
