Can't hold that against them but yes, you're right - it's all about the songs and Dave Grohl like Cheap Trick has a great knack for pop songs. It doesn't matter it they're played hard and fast and a bit rough around the edges they are 100% bona fide great pop songs.

Grohl is a decent guy but to me it was all noise and not much substance. If lots of posing and hair waving is your bag then I guess it is what the masses wanted.
As for good pop songs then Ray Davies he is not.
Radiohead are too far up their own asses with little recent commercial success to warrant their listing at Glasto.

Genesis sell shitloads of records. Radiohead last night came off like a band aping early Pink Floyd and Genesis before they were good. Trying to f*ck up their legacy to gain art rock respectability. Complete bunch of c*nts. I like the Foo Gighters, a real Everyman band. Radiohead were peaks and troughs and more memorable for it. I enjoyed Elbow yesterday and thought Katy Perry was fun. Please tell me you're joking? Radiohead, as mesmerising as they were at times last night, it was hardly a headliner performance. Not when compared to what the foo fighters just done. The crowd didn't complain and as a Radiohead fan they played everything I more or less expected them to play.
As Ed O'Brien said "We are not headlining, we are just a part of a massive and fantastic cultural festival where you have to leave your ego at the door".
