I've got an amazon fire TV box. Bought a preloaded one because I thought it would be too technical to do myself. I've since discovered that it's a piece of piss. As long as it supports Kodi you can google how to install it and whatever add on you want.
If I was buying again I'd get something cheaper and do it all myself.
Cheers jack247 Seems like my kids are using them too. That's why I thought they'd be rubbish :P haha
Thanks for the advice :)

I think most people were trying to help you.. I watched all swans game in hd last season..and that's the truth..
I believe you mate, I expect you're right about people helping too although I'm not convinced regarding one or two on here, lol
I have a home ST and travel to at least a few away matches per season but the remainder have been hell at times although that may have to do with some of the performances as much as the grainy, stuttering streams :D
Thanks, appreciate the advice.
Are there many differences between the firestick and the box do you know?

If people are having probs with kodi whatever versions download SPMC as a backup its basically the same as its from some of the same developers, I tend to use it more than kodi
Also for the fire stick download mx player and terrarium tv, does the same thing has all the films and tv shows its rather good
The hair and the beard have gone I am now conforming to society, tis a sad day
The b*stards are coming back though

I'm not sure about the firesticks or boxes for access, I use a pc or laptop for kodi.. And fair play to them, it was perfect..Looking at 720p for pl matches and 1080p for sky sports, bt.. ect..

Depends on your box, there might be a 5.1 update for it.
If not, one of the guys on Freaktab modified v16 to support SSL. I did trial it a few months ago, and it did seem to work fine. Couldn't really vouch for it now though.
The Amazon FireTV box is a very nice device, bought one myself recently but came across a bit of a game breaker for me that only appeared in Kodi 17.
The issue is, the inability to pass-through any audio, apart from Dolby Digital 5.1 to a 5.1 receiver. DTS, nor any of the HD audio formats work as intended.
At first I thought it was a Kodi issue, but after reading a bit about it, it turns out that Kodi have been using a hack, to cover up sh1tty device firmware. The FireTV, as well as many other devices have the same problem. Kodi have actually released a version for these devices (actually called shitty build) - But warns that it can cause audio distortion that can damage your device, or even hearing!
I swapped the FIreTV out for a Nvidia Shield which works perfectly.
Edit ----- If anyone is interested there is a bit more info here:
They announced they reduced their prices, my current sub runs till end of July hope the prices stay down
The thing i noticed with STVB recently is i can't use it on the matrix app on my phone. Used to work fine, and when i watch normal channels it works okay. Soon as i try and watch BT Sports, Sky Sports etc. It starts lagging? Even tried logging on a different phone, using wifi and 4g and still the same

Works absolutely fine on my Samsung although I tend to use it more through the add on on spmc. I use matrix tv browser on my samsung tablet with no problem

Hey Luke, try asking their facebook support page
Have done, not a major issue as it works fine on kodi, just would be nice to be able to get it on my phone too. Messaged FB and their Twitter so will see
Just seems strange normal channels like bbc one, sky atlantic all work fine, use 1 of the sports links and constant lag
