Equaliser might've been fortunate but we played well.
Created plenty chances on the break in the first half.
Struggled to break them down in the second but never gave up.
One of our players was superb in the second half and kept us in it.*
Fortunate og.
A draw was probably the right result.
* As a member of the goalie's union it always bugs me that a goalie playing well makes the team lucky, but of one of the other ten plays well it's not lucky at all. Smithies is ours and if you haven't beaten him, then you're just bitchin; and moanin'. Luck's got shag all to do with it. |  |

Thought Newcastle upped their play in the second half but it was a dogged performance. We were fortunate with our equalizer but overall the sort of performance I want to see us making.
Good individual performances all round. Perch deserves a special mention as he's been on the receiving end of quite a bit of stick.
Can't wait to see how the new benefit in.

Unfortunately I think this is something we're going to have to get more used to. Even teams that get relegated from the Prem now will probably have income greater than most of the top leagues in Europe thanks to the parachute payments. | | | |
