Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage 12:47 - Dec 19 with 10042 views | TheResurrection | ….with 2 massive games coming up. I think we all know how important these games are but unfortunately so will West Ham and Bournemouth who will also know the fans are on the edge of mutiny and despair. We really need to get behind Bradley and the team for these 2 games — no matter if Bradley stays or goes in the new year we will never get these 2 winnable games back then. We need at least 3 points preferably more. Into January we need to make big decisions. I feel the courage behind these decisions are as vital as us bringing in the right players for us. People will hate me [again] for this but for me Siggy should go. His heart has gone and so has his performances. He feels he’s too good for us now — which is probably the case — but we don’t need that sort of prima donna in the ranks when we are where we are. His 2 mistakes for the opener at Boro have been brushed under the carpet on this site and that itself is wrong. I can’t remember an assist from him from open play all season or a cutting edge cross or through ball. I maybe wrong there but I’m sure even the blindest of his fans would agree he’s been lacking from open play. - Siggy to go - £25m - Taylor also £5m - Ki £10m - Montero £8m - Llorente or Baston will either need shipping out or shaping up — Llorente is at best an impact player as I’ve not seen an easier ride for centre halves up against him since Vasquez or Schechter I think we can raise upwards of £40m and we need to be brave enough to go for these sales but make absolutely sure we give this Premier League one last fight. We need:- - At least 1 full back - A centre half - A dog in midfield - A winger or 2 - A striker This is the scale of our task and has been Bradley’s plight. It’s this much change that’s needed and 4 months overdue. If the Americans are serious about keeping us up or at least not going down without a fight they can chip in another £20/£30m on top of these sales to give us that survival warchest. The Yanks are business people but shrewd ones at that, so I’d hope they have seen through Jenkins and his useless attempt at playing football God and at least consult a real professional Director of Football type, or even better bring one in. These decisions should have been going on for at least the last 2 months now and I’ve been banging on to the Trust about this as they should have been in Pearlman’s ear the whole time. There is so much still to play for!!

My son occasionally reminds me that I said that Wes Morgan was only Championship level... bastard! (both of them)

Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage on 20:59 - Dec 19 by TheResurrection | Sunderland was just a crude example FFS and that extract was quickly copied and pasted to show that fairly major surgery was carried out at Sunderland in January to give them a shout at staying up. It doesn't matter if Danny Graham et al were non starters or a regulars, it matters that big decisions and a much needed clear out is necessary. It's also my hunch, and not just me from reading this thread, that Siggy aint that happy here and would probably welcome a move away. In my opinion, this could also be a good move for us, if it funded much needed better replacements. We don't need Taylor or Ki or Montero. They may as well be a Graham, a Pantillimon or Coates!! We need better in these positions and bastard quick. Try and understand mun instead of coming back with childish nonsense. But are you a youngster, you didn't answer? |
Sorry Mr Resurrection but you will question what a poster writes without looking behind as it were so you can't expect quarter given in return. For me, suggesting that we get rid of our best player as he is on a poor run is lunacy. If any poster had suggested something similar 6 months ago you would be calling them "mugs", "clueless", "not football fans" etc. As for the Bradley's plight being 4 month's overdue that's the Americans fault (especially if, as you say they, are shrewd businessmen) so I'm confused as to why the trust should be getting some blame in not haranguing Pearlman for the last two months (has he been here two months, ye gods!)

If we did sell all those players for those sums and raised 48 million pounds I would hazard a guess that we would not even spend the spare 8 million on replacements. 40 million directly to the hedge fund...........

Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage on 08:21 - Dec 20 with 1325 views | Headmaster | I had a dream last night Sigurdsson was sold to West Ham, we sacked Bob and had Pochettino as manager. You can't have a moment's peace with this club right now.
Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage on 08:45 - Dec 20 with 1317 views | Chief | To the OP, who's going to take Taylor off us for for 5million? And why would Bob sanction the sale of one of his regular starters? Then there's the red herring 'we must get behind the manager'. Why exactly? No ones been chanting for him to leave yet (apart from boro away, but those frustrations were entirely understandable). I don't see how a manager can up his game (ie tactics and organising a team) during the game by the fans chanting his name? Different story for the players of course so I agree we need to get behind them. Some obviously get a lift from the fans. We tend to chant the managers name as a token of appreciation - when they have visibly made decent tactical decisions and have motivated the players to play for them and the club. Bradley hasn't done either yet, his CV suggests he probably isn't capable of it and he basically isn't deserving of our adoration.

Go back to playing Championship Manager because you are out of your depth posting anything of any substance on here. A distinct lack of knowledge and a big trap is a dangerous combination. I urge nobody to listen to this imbecile. Siggy needs to be sold, I almost got a hernia! 5mil for Taylor - Neil Taylor, right!? In the parallel universe you live in, these 7, yes 7 players we are going to sign in Jan - where are they coming from? Lots of good players enjoy a relegation battle in the January window! Just saying a dog in midfield is childish and ridiculous - whom? From where??. Heres an idea: Why don't we keep the only player capable of getting us out of this mess, make 2/3 good signings and sack Bob? Add you fücking off to that list and we're good to go. You really are a moron.

Whoa so much hatred all in one post. Haha. And all from that guy everyone knows and drinks with who was christened Jack Eleven. It's this kind of post why people won't say who they are. It's all too easy to be the coward behind the keyboard. And by the way £5m is nothing in today's EPL but would have bought us, I'm guessing cos I haven't double checked, a Kante or Mahrez?!

Yes I know the Sunderland piece was cut and pasted but you’re using it and still are as a way of how to do what you’re op stated. The flaw in that is they are not alike at all. You can’t compare throwing away our star player and a large part of our team to getting rid of a load of non starters. Can’t you see? It wasn't major surgery that fat Sam did, he strengthened the team/squad and on that I will agree we need to do, but not by getting rid of everyone and replacing them with god only knows what. Your plan constituted of raising and spending 75m in a short window of a few weeks. This isn't a computer game we are playing, this is the real world.

Mate, it's not beyond the realm's of possibility though, is it? Not by a long chalk. In fact I'll be very surprised if we don't part company with most of the players I've mentioned. I'm guessing, and hoping Ki will fancy the Chinese challenge. There was talk of Taylor to Palace (again a massive hope from me) but I'm thinking Taylor maybe fed up at the Swans right now and his agent must be on borrowed time. Montero should go and I'd bet the management are also totally fed up with him so it's probably a good time to get rid of this dead wood that we've been carrying around for too long.

Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage on 19:11 - Dec 19 by jack247 | That's the obvious solution. An alarming number of our players are probably not good enough to be regular premier league starters. Not a single one of them is anywhere near as out of his depth as the manager though. |
Sacking the Manager is the bleedin obvious. The lift this would give the players and fans would be immense. I cant think of any fan that would disagree.

Sell Siggy - We are 3 points worse off than we were last season at this stage on 14:48 - Dec 19 by TheResurrection | Yeah — I did and stand by everything I said. Monmouth has said the same. We all know Siggy and what he can and can’t give and bad games aside, his head isn’t with us it seems. I also think we need someone with different qualities to his in a dog fight. Someone that won’t get muscled off the ball, someone street wise, someone that can get us ten yards further up the field quicker by going past a man, that sort of thing. This season, all he’s good for is set pieces — and yeah he’s deadly at those but is that enough? |
This is the worst post I have ever read :) You (TheResurrection) clearly don´t like Siggy. But I´m sorry to tell you that he is not going. Just signed a 4 year contract few months ago. He always gives everything for us and clearly wants to stay. In the calendar year 2016 he has scored 15 goals for us and set up a lot. I would rather bring in a good experienced central defender and a winger that can cross and assist to help us in the second half of the season than replaceing Siggy with someone that can get us further up the field quicker by going past a man! What attitude is that may I ask? Being pissed off that we are letting in 10^10 goals per game? Being unhappy with being promised that the side would be improved with new talent? Generally having some ambition for the game? He was indeed pist after the Middlesbrough game, at himself and the teams performance. What were the other blokes doing? Shaking hands, smiling "ohh well, still getting paid".

You were certainly right about selling Siggy and probably Llorente too, Chris. Now do you think the Yanks will spend most of the funds in the next day and a half to keep us in this league, or quietly squirrel away the cash ready for bailing out?
