The Draw 18:45 - Dec 5 with 21145 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Only a few minutes off, but we will have to endure all usual BBC crap sucking up to Stevie G and Ian Right Right Wright before the proper stuff. Far too much farting around, just get on with it. HOME draw please.
The Draw on 08:35 - Dec 6 with 2723 views | kirbys | This tie is similar to last saturday with both sides form Cumbria riding high in leagues below Dale. I live 20min from Barrow and believe me they fancy their chances following their progress so far. Will be great test for our younger less experienced player where they have to cope with a small but packed ground, iffy pitch and hungry opposition. Get your ticket and enjoy being the favourite for once.

Favourites?? If we are it will only be slight... On our day we should have to much for them. We will need to be up for this one though bunch of hard nosed conference types busting a gut for a win. We will need to match the intensity of our oppo. At least it's on grass! The 3G at maidstone didn't suit at all. Could have been much better. Could have been a hell of a lot worse. Looking forward to it.

You're right on all points there........except one. Believe me, it is not an "iffy pitch". It might not be the biggest you'll play on but it's in extremely good nick and very well cared for. In this case, 'Never mind the width, feel the quality' As someone who used to watch us play each other in our league days I'm really looking forward to this.

What % chance have we? 25% will go for. Sutton V Wimbledon will prob edge us out but that's poo with wimbledon being on tele v Curzon last round.
The Draw on 15:08 - Dec 7 with 1795 views | kirbys | Blue ---Glad to note that the pitch has improved since the days we used to meet the Blues in the league. I agree Dales pitch was not up to flowing football in those days. Saw some tasty games in those days. One easter match at spotland when Barrow were chasing promotion and they were and still are the "hardest" side I ever saw. At the end of that match there was a mass invasion which included my dad I might add, as Dale fans were so incensed with the rough tactics. I think it was a 0 - 0 draw. The Barrow players ran for their lives down the tunnel. Judging by the clips of their match with Bristol Rovers there is a fine contest in prospect and I can't wait.

It depends on how may are shown on TV. Last season was 6 I think, and if that is repeated then we have a reasonable chance. On the positives there are no exciting all prem clashes, although I fear BT will like the Everton v Leic game, they may not be shown. Also with the two 2nd round replays selected for TV (and being shown a week after the rest of the replays) now confirmed - Peterborough v Notts C and Newport v Plymouth - the TV companies may be put off showing the victors third round ties at Chelsea and Liverpool respectively as it gives them a nearly a fortnight less time to do all the pre-advertising and background work than an already know tie, and a week less than those where the replay is in the normal week. So excluding those games from being picked if I went for 7 which I think is most likely in order: Manchester United VS Reading (well they like Utd as it means viewers and at least this time it is fairer with it being their first game as holders) Preston North End VS Arsenal (Arsenal similar in drawing an audience) Everton VS Leicester City (the token all Prem game, and BBC do like these teams and it is as close as they get to showing a PL game. Appeases the fickle TV fans who would never dream of watching a L1 team play on TV as it is "boring" or rubbish and who think football is not worth it once you get outside of the top flight) Tottenham Hotspur VS Aston Villa (the relegated PL side back v a good PL team) Sutton United VS AFC Wimbledon (the non-league side at home to cause an upset, and with only 3 miles or so between the towns it is a derby too) Bolton Wanderers VS Crystal Palace (the token PL strugglers and last season's finalists. Barrow AFC VS Rochdale AFC (as Sutton above, although not a derby unless you want to call it the "Historically Part of Lancashire Derby" but Barrow are in good form so decent upset potential) So I have Dale's game as 7th on the list, so just missing out if there are 6 games, but I wouldn't be surprised if one or more of my list didn't get shown EDIT: I have just looked and saw it was 5 games on TV plus one BBC Wales showed. Oh and every single one of the 6 games involved at least one PL team [Post edited 7 Dec 2016 17:00]

The Draw on 09:26 - Dec 8 with 1361 views | Barrafan | Hi lads and lasses, any info you require regards pubs etc. give me a shout. In the ground if its raining you WILL get wet as the away section has no covering unless you sit in the stand of course. I make Rochdale slight favourites but as we all know the fa cup can turn anything up. We are a decent bunch up here but do get the knuckle draggers coming out for big games, never see them before or after these sort of games. Anyway I wish you all a happy xmas and a great trip bar 90 mins.

Yep. City, United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs. With the token Cambridge v Leeds thrown in as the other game! So predictable. So bland. So TV rating chasing. But that's what I suppose they need to do - and what the foreign markets would want as well. Still, nowt better than a proper FA cup tie at a proper football ground at a proper time in proper football weather! There'll be more cup magic at Barrow than any of those 5 prem team games. The Draw on 16:35 - Dec 8 with 1175 views | JumeirahDale | Spurs vs. Villa - what a showcase for the "romance of the FA Cup". Fine with them putting the matches on that will get the highest audience (business decision after all) but it does make all the patronizing b*llocks about history and plucky underdogs harder to take.

The thing is most people on here seem to think Barrow vs Rochdale is a fairly well-matched tie so where's the plucky underdog story there? Don't be moaning about Spurs being on, should all feel lucky you get to see Dele, Harry, Christian et al strut their stuff on national television.

Have to agree mate IF Holker Street sells out it will be some cup tie. Although I still make you lads slight favourites Barrow are bloody hard to beat but not pretty on the eye most weeks at home. You will get plenty of abuse from the Neanderthals from across the segregation space. They are all wind and piss though but I see it as it all adds to a great atmosphere.

There's a good chance it'll be online then if there are extra camera's filming it and a commentary. I know Altrincham v Barnsley was on last year when it was a featured game on the Saturday.
