The man from Uncle was better than I was expecting. Quite like Ritchie's older films but not been that keen on his most recent stuff. Well worth a watch though.

Big Game with Samuel L Jackson.

The idea for the story had a lot of potential, but the film didn't really deliver. Special effects were like something out of the 80s too.

San Andreas was a good lighthearted watch - The Rocks daughter was worth watching it for alone

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

I rewatched a classic this morning, James Mason in The Odd Man Out.

Marvellous.

Fast and Furious 7. A couple of genuine laugh out loud moments. It's not a comedy. Enjoyable tripe, like all the films in that series.

Seeing Spectre mentioned in this thread I have to say it disappointed me massively. Was no real storyline and just seemed to be gratuitous action for the sake of it - not a patch on Skyfall

The Alan Ladd version 1949?
I saw it a long time ago. It was well done. Some consider it the best version.

No, about a military dog who's handler dies in Afgahn, so goes to live with his handlers family in America.

When you said you'd seen Max I assumed you were talking about the John Cusack, Noah Taylor film. Set in the immediate aftermath of The Great War it provides a reminder that nothing is inevitable; tomorrow's events are more often the culmination of chance happenings rather than conscious design.

Is it any good, new out?

Going off on a tangent, just read General Sir Peter de la Billière book, not bad in fairness. Looking for something from Iran/Iraq now, biography not historical, any suggestions?
