Terrible injury for a young player to suffer.
Hope he recovers soon

I was playing football once when one of my teammates clean snapped his leg. He was a bit of a tw@t but I still felt a bit sorry for him, and we didn't have any subs. He got pinned and screwed and was back within a year.

Sounds like that was a long game.

He won’t be back on Saturday or the one after, and might be out for the season. I’d wager he’ll be back playing again next season.

He might be. Then again his career may be over.

F*ck him, he's rich. I don't care.

More evidence that there are some awful f*cking people posting on this site.

It's just jealousy that they are not as wealthy and successful as some. They take out their own inadequacy on others, to justify their own failure on reaching their full potential in life.

I can't see why people are saying his career might be over, when I'd imagine the recovery from such a nasty break would be quite good, for these top sports stars. A lengthy process of course.

Fookn off hump, it's getting boring now.

People like you and me break limbs every day and have to put up with average treatment and aftercare.

Some lose limbs and it changes lives so please don't insult those who really do face difficult times .

Shaw will be fine and its feck all with him being rich, just the business he s in..

Think about someone self employed breaking a large limb

Whilst I would never wish this injury on such a young player he isn't going to have a difficult life if he doesn't recover enough to play too class football again is he?

If that's the motivation then yes it's indeed a sad attitude, but I think that way oversimplifies this particular debate.

I don't see anybody that has said that they are glad that he broke his leg, simply that it's not a disaster. Merely a setback and occupational hazard. His manager reckons he'll be out for 6 months. I, like everyone I'm sure, wish him well in his recovery, but forgive me if I don't weep.

It's got naff all to do with faux grief or how much money the lad has got. Of course he won't struggle financially, can't see anyone suggesting that. It's abut humility, empathy and class , something we used to have in spades.

Spectacular is a much overused word on ps.

Read what I posted, relate it you your comments and you ll find it apposite.

It's not sad enough for fans of another football club to almost bleed for him.

If people have to feel empathy, look around .

What I'd like to know is if the club is organising a minutes applause during the game to show respect?

I'm not jumping around celebrating by any means but he's broken his leg not his neck ffs.

No sign of it being career threatening yet.

As perch says, there are many, many other people who get injured and struck off work every day. The likely scenario here is that he'll be back next season. In the meantime, he can sip champagne in his mansion earning 3 or 4 times most of our yearly salaries in a week, for doing sod all.

Whose.

I ll explain son, as you seem to be playing dumb.

I must have spent too much time in a and e watching people really suffer with injuries that were horrific, self employed people losing their livelihood because of losing limbs, people facing financial hardship because of hospitalisation and fact they ll be on half pay, so fookn whose to you.

Save your tears for your own, they ll come in handy

Hope the young man recovers well from his debilitating injury and is able to continue in his chosen profession. He is a fine footballer who's livelyhood could be taken away by his unfortunate injury.

Hope the lad makes a full recovery, nasty business!

Why people feel the need to tell other people not to have any empathy for him is beyond me.

If you don't give a f*ck, then just ignore the thread and move on. No need to spread your clear hate and bitterness.

I wonder if they would be as callous if it was one of our players?

Oh, a witty picture!

Do you really think united fans would give a shite if Ash broke his leg? Some of the things I saw written about him after the RvP incident were shocking.
