I was playing football once when one of my teammates clean snapped his leg. He was a bit of a tw@t but I still felt a bit sorry for him, and we didn't have any subs. He got pinned and screwed and was back within a year. |

If that's the motivation then yes it's indeed a sad attitude, but I think that way oversimplifies this particular debate.
I don't see anybody that has said that they are glad that he broke his leg, simply that it's not a disaster. Merely a setback and occupational hazard. His manager reckons he'll be out for 6 months. I, like everyone I'm sure, wish him well in his recovery, but forgive me if I don't weep. |  |

No sign of it being career threatening yet.
As perch says, there are many, many other people who get injured and struck off work every day. The likely scenario here is that he'll be back next season. In the meantime, he can sip champagne in his mansion earning 3 or 4 times most of our yearly salaries in a week, for doing sod all. | |
