Ashley or Oyston on 09:25 - May 25 with 4680 views | brassedoff | There really does seem to be a divide nowadays between football chairman who care (Bournemouth, Fleetwood, Middlesbrough etc) who are highly regarded by the fans, will take the rough with the smooth and understand what it is that fans want (and we know we can't win every game or that would become dull) and then you have the absolute toss pots like those two who just see it as an ego boosting power trip.

Ashley or Oyston on 09:34 - May 25 with 4680 views | BigHandsOliverKahn | Toon are still £129M in debt to him - he's been recording profits in recent seasons to reduce that debt so he won't be walking away just yet. Similarly, the O's have made massive profits and racked up around £31 Million... loaned out to holding companies around BFC. Is this to protect the club in the long term or to just make money from it? The next 10 years will probably provide the answer. If it's the former, then we may be in a better position than we think. If it's the latter, then we are in a disastrous situation. What isn't acceptable to either fanbase, is making profits whilst failing to provide a competitive team.

At least Ashley has been man enough to come out and admit responsibility for Newcastle's very poor season, but which did not result in relegation. What have we had from Oyston, absolutely not a squeak, despite asking us to judge him in May. Ashley has also promised investment in players for the coming season. Other than cheap free transfers and no hopers, investment will be nil at Blackpool.

For that matter why not throw in Phil Gartside at Bolton who has royally screwed up Edwin Davies's investment and money. You could have added Peter Ridsdale who I'm sure would have been on thin ice with Trevor Hemmings had he not have won promotion. Goes to show that the wrong Chief Exec can be just as damaging as an owner who is looking after his investment!
