Mmmm Kennedy was disappointing during his brief loan spell back here but I guess KH has his own reasons for wanting him. I dont personally agree with a lot of what has been said about Rose, but its great when you have good left footed players who can provide competition for places so I hope Kennedy settles in quickly and adds another piece of the jigsaw. As Whitey says maybe as the left side of a back three or maybe further forward.
Tanser is very young and relatively lightweight for the rough and tumble of L1 Tuesdays and Saturdays and quality cover if you can find it is always welcome as there is little doubt the kid will need resting from time to time.
And for the opposite side of an argument, it's a fair point about Kennedy's time with us in L1. Widdowson had won his place back before the loan ended.
Can't agree with BeckWMG's point about us struggling at LB since halfway through last season as moving Done there was a masterstroke which assisted us during the excellent run which as good as clinched us promotion.

Im beginning to believe that with some of the posts on this forum. Maybe he's a decent div 2 player
If that's the case, Barnsley shouldn't have got rid. By the look of things you're probably closer to League Two than you are to the Championship. Don't get me wrong, we are currently closer to League Two than the Championship too, but I'm more than happy to have TK back.

We have - on paper - a better side than we had in the Championship. Patience is the key. I believe we'll blossom as the season progresses. Not sure it'll be a promotion season, but I don't see us struggling to say up once things click.
The signs were there this week, had enough chances to win both games, but (in my opinion) were deservedly beaten by two sides who didn't look like relegation material despite the bookies odds etc.
I'm enjoying it. Will do even more once we score/win.

An alternative reading is that if it doesn't work with Danny Wilson you have nowhere else to turn.
Dont see the point of this, I would rather have Tanser at left back and an experienced central defender brought in. We have given sloppy goals away and the two centre backs we have at moment will make mistakes all season , it will take time for them to get up to the level required. Despite what the mongs say he is a bucket and the only saving grace is that he will hopefully stop Rose getting in the team. Please sign some forwards before Dumbo pulls the plug on the finance.

:-) Its difficult Col , but lets be honest we all know what can be done to ensure our safety and signing mates in areas that we have cover is not great business, unless you disagree. I know we are not blessed with vast amounts of money but hey we have more in the bank than ever before so lets use it wisely in areas required. Lets get a proven goalscorer , even on loan. Of course I shouldnt knock Dumbo, he got us promoted , yeah right he stumbled upon a management team , then made horrendous decisions to ensure we fell from grace in dramatic fashion. Then luckily went back for the old option when available. when we work under tight budgets , the signings need to be of the best quality available and I think left back and centre mid are not our priorites.

A touch of positivity once in a while makes a world of difference.
As discussed yesterday, the signing of TK does not mean that Done, Rose and Tanser are now surplus to requirements. It was Done's attacking prowess which made him such a threat from left back last season, but we won't be afforded that freedom in League One. So far (despite his injury), it would appear a return to a more forward position seems to be on the cards. Tanser has played two games at centre half and done well. So taking that into account, it's TK or Rose.
I love our midfield trio of Allen, Hery and Lund. And in 12 months, Cannon may well be joining them. But between all four, they have played less than ten games outside of League 2, and the eldest of them is 23. Even if it is for strengthening the squad, we need to have different options in the same way last year there were games where we needed a Cav and there were games where we needed a Hery. Dawson adds something we don't have, and will stop our young midfield getting bullied.
And let's not forgetting that the manager is committing 18 months of wages on these two players who have played in the Championship and League One for the past five years. That's half the time that Coleman committed to the Donnelly transfer.
And if you could name a proven goalscorer who is available and within our budget, you'd be doing our manager a favour. I'm sure he'd appreciate the help.

What's Dunphy done to you to be so disparaging?

Parkins Gimp is being wholly disrespectful!!
Dunphy is doing a sterling job as is Hill.
Getting a chapionship full back in and a 28 year old midfield general will only tighten the whole look of the side up and allow the Hendersons and the Vincentes to play in the roles where they excel....
watch this space we now look like we a ONE stiker away from a very competent league one outfit. I expect this will be addressed sooner rather than later. In the meantime Andrew / Donnelly / Bunny / Logan / Camps need to get there shooting boots laced up and crack on with what they are paid to do.

Do you not think Hill realises we need some firepower up front?
He's about to say on his DalePlayer interview that he still wants to bring in two new faces.
He also said at the forum that he had agreed to sign a player (presumably a forward) who then went elsewhere.
Perhaps he should just waste this 'money in the bank' on any old player.
I'm of the opinion that the SQUAD that started this season wasn't stronger than the SQUAD that finished last season. The addition of two players this week, plus others he will bring in before the end of August suggest the SQUAD will soon be stronger.
There might even be players leaving to accommodate the new recruits.
I'm sure the only manager in our history with two promotions on his CV knows what we need and he's not going to waste club resources in achieving that.
EDIT: Just listened to the interview. KH says he has realised we need League 1 standard players (Dawson & Kennedy are those) and he's been texting one manager all week regarding one of his targets. He also realises we aren't finishing off our good play and is determined to get players in who will help that improve. i.e. a striker(s).

A bit like us with Hilly.
Aye, Danny is afforded leeway/faith/trust that no other Barnsley manager could ever garner. Same with you and Keith. Because they've done great things at both clubs, relatively.
