If rumoured fee is accurate, this is a brilliant piece of business. There was a time we would have sold the whole club for less.

Let's see who is the next graduate is from the evolving youth system we seem to be building.

I very much hope Scott - in the tradition of Lambert, Holt, Murray, Le Fondre - enjoys a career that goes beyond Brentford.

A year ago when Bobby Grant moved to Blackpool, there was an assumption that his goals would be badly missed, though we can't reasonably expect KH to pull another rabbit out of the hat.

Even though Dale now has a bit of money at avaialable, goalscorers aren't easily found. Hogan's transfer is an illustartion of how much cash can be needed: for a 3-year deal (in which he might make a total of 150 appearances) Brentford, assuming the fee was £750k, are paying £5k per game, plus his salary (at least the same again?). There's a chance of him being transferred for millions, but also some risk that the step-up to the Championship mightn't come off.
