All Change For April - Dates Changed For Away Games
Wednesday, 16th Mar 2022 09:05

Southampton have had some fixture changes for April with the re arranged game against Burnley forcing the trip to Brighton to be put back, find out the full details here.

Saints fans will have two tough away fixtures in the space of four days at the end of April, firstly the trip to Burnley originally scheduled for this weekend but postponed due to our involvement in the 5th round of the FA Cup will now be played on a Thursday evening, April 21st to be exact.

This means that the game at Brighton will now have to be pushed back a day, now the game will be played on Sunday 24th April with a 2pm kick off.

Burnley is usually one of the poorest turn outs in terms of away support, it isn't the longest trip, Newcastle holds that distinction, but it is not only the distance that puts people off, it is the difficulty in getting there on a Saturday let alone a Thursday.

A trip to Burnley by train is bad enough at the weekend and impossible for an evening game without staying over.

But that isn't the fault of the Premier League on this occasion, Saints are a victim of their own success here, there are no other weekend's free to rearrange the game so it will have to be an evening fixture.

Engineering works mean buses between Littlehampton and Worthing for Brighton game, so drive or coach down from Southampton best option, from Salisbury we'll be going on train via London

I have a ticket for Burnley and given I live in East Yorkshire I will probably still go, though I have the feeling I might have the stand to myself!

Would like to have gone to Brighton but Sunday games are a flipping nightmare and there are always travel problems on the rail so I will have to skip this one, especially with work the next day.

at least 8 London Saints will be in attendance A1079, plus should be a reasonable turn out from Northern Saints

Will be bit different at your local game at Leeds where only 6 tickets left, over 40 London Saints coming up for that one

If there is one game I want us to win and win well Salisbury I sure as hell hope it is Leeds Utd away. The nightmare at work on the Monday (and for heavens knows how many days afterwards) if we lose at all and especially if we lose badly will be unbearable. They still won't forget the infamous beating of us and the 21 passes or whatever it was! I just hope we turn up and not play like we did against Watford at home, Villa or Liverpool and Arsenal away.

The downside is, we are playing Leeds just as they have Bamford back and probably Phillips by then and with a new manager!
