Only Three Days To Go Thursday, 14th Jun 2012 13:37
There are only three more days to go before we can all start planning our diaries for next season and find out just when we return to Old Trafford and Anfield.
Monday 18th June at 9am sees the release of the fixtures for the season and saints supporters will finally be able to see that our seven years in the wilderness are finally over. Funnily enough in that time although we have played a few premier teams at home in the cups, we have rarely been drawn away from home the only away ties of significance being trips to Newcastle and Man City so most saints fans will be looking forward to playing the big guns on their own turf again.
Perhaps the most eagerly awaited fixture is the trip to Arsenal as of course we have never played at the Emirates, that along with Wigan being the two stadia in the Premier we have yet to grace.

August 18th seems such a long way off. Good job we have the Euros , the Olympics and a few friendlies to keep us going until then

Nick keeps us going at this time of year with his insightful analysis and pithy remarks. Who needs the Euros when you can read about Saints Legends You Have Never Heard Of?

Im looking foward to the big stadiums again but have to say I really enjoyed some of the grounds Ive been to these last three years. The terraces at Peterborough, the step back in time grounds like Oldham and Hartlepool,or the perfectly formed and small old fashioned ground of Rochdale all stand out. Nice going to historic Turf Moor and Carlisle was interesting though I cant recall why, and maybe we will revisit MK Dons and Sheffield Wednesday if those clubs ambitions are fulfilled.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Bristol Rovers Polls |
