| Forum Reply | Mel Johnson Interview - now on the Patreon at 21:25 4 Dec 2024
Spent yesterday "WFH" and listening to this, a fantastic interview with Mel. Rose-tinted specs, sands of time and all that, yeah I know we were skint, shaking buckets, but those players, the management team, the staff and the fans, all in it together - the best of times and the worst of times. The club on its arse but it brought out the best in people - all of those involved with the club pulling together and felt like they cared, and it showed. Mel recounting his time with us reminded me of those days and what a special group that was. Forgot to add, thanks for getting that interview Clive! [Post edited 4 Dec 22:01]

Piss weak ref, Louza should have had a second yellow for the challenge on Smyth, and that yellow for Smith was soft as. |

Good first half, should've been great one. Cleverly will stick a rocket up the collective Watford ar$es at HT. Next 45 is going to be a real test I reckon. [Post edited 30 Nov 13:22]

Have you been offered cortisone injection as an option? 11 years ago (aged 47) I kept rolling my right ankle playing 5-a-side - thing just wouldn't clear up, it was swollen and giving me constant gyp. I resorted to having a cortisone injection which promoted blood flow/reduce swelling etc - absolutely marvelous, painful for a week or so but once it worked its magic I was back playing again 2/3 times a week within 6 weeks, swelling reduced and I never had a problem since. More recently, I've had plantar fasciitis in left heel been going on since March, went and had another cortisone 4 weeks ago and after 2 weeks its worked its magic and I'm pain free, no guarantees as to whether it will be a permanent fix but it's was defo worth a shot. |

I was saddened and shocked to read this about Chris Hoy, and the doubling of awful news with his wife’s condition, those poor kids. My thoughts are with the Hoy family. This has really hit home, an absolute specimen of an athlete still in his prime and there’s little that can be done. Lost my old man in April, same diagnosis as Sir Chris, metastatic prostate, that was in 2020, he lasted four years as the oncologist had predicted - he was 81, had been regularly running half marathons up until 2019. This happening to a man still in his 40’s seems unbelievably cruel to him, and all those in his life. [Post edited 21 Oct 14:23]

That is indeed sad news, RIP George, some supporter! I think that Danny Gristwood was the Mr Gristwood that taught my daughter at St Gregories school in Ealing, small world. [Post edited 19 Oct 10:57]

My old mans widow is in Orlando visiting her cousin, first holiday since he passed earlier this year, she was due to head back to the UK today. Most recent WhatsApp I had from her last night was she said she's never been so scared and just wants to get back home, currently hunkered down in a substantial property as her cousins place is expected to get battered. Thoughts are with everyone out there. |

Second the OP's comments, I enjoy Connors no waffle, straight to the point approach to his content, keeps it a nice length - very digestible bite size nuggets :-) As for Joe Walsh, comes across a lovely guy - just the right sort. Look forward to seeing his career blossom at the R's. |

Crate of them need to make space, I'm happy to deliver within a reasonable radius from Hanwell, West London - not the Oxfordshire one. Shame to dump them. Any takers? |
