Superb piece of writing Clive that perfectly encapsulated the poignancy and sadness of Friday night and where the club is at the moment. The “ghosts†seem very real to a lot of us now. I think it was so good that you deserve to be excused from having to drag yourself down for more punishment against Swansea as a reward. |

Surely those last few names in the formidable list of Watford players must have been added for a laugh, or to see if we’d notice-James Garner from the Rockford files followed by Quinoa and Trust fund Mekong? |

Must admit I’m curious about the words used to describe Rooney watching the game. Was it really meant to be “stunned bollock†or is it a typo for “stunned bullock Not complaining as either seem appropriate. |

Thanks Clive. I think you’ve surpassed yourself on this one. “The StrangerThingsâ€/Winona Ryder reference and the extended man crush on Ale Faurlin were the standout moments for me but there were almost too many to choose from. |

Another excellent article Clive, which certainly brightened up a dull Saturday morning. Although after reading it I came to the conclusion that reading your stuff is a hell of a lot more enjoyable than actually watching Rangers play football these days, which is a rather unfortunate situation if you're an ST holder! |
| News Comment | QPR the perfect party guests once more — report at 09:35:58
An excellent report Clive, which as several people have said already provided far more entertainment (for a Rangers supporter anyway) than the game itself. The only problem with reading it was that I'd just about begun to blot it out of my consciousness and your extremely graphic report brought it all back again in its full awfulness .I remember commenting on the match thread that our game plan seemed to consist of sitting back and waiting for them to score and then when they did, waiting for them to score again ! |

Unfortunately,as I'm still intending to buy a season ticket and will be witnessing it at first hand, the coming season shows every indication of being a massive clusterf--k to rank alongside the previous two.I have rarely looked forward less to a season than the one that is fast approaching. |

As it might well be the case that Adel has only 3 home games left to play inthe hoops,I'm going to be majorly p-ssed off if we don't see him from the start on Saturday. The season and the Premier League have gone so at least try to entertain the fans for the last few games. |

Amazed you overlooked Clint Hill in your discussion of contenders for man of the match Clive.I am old enough to remember the 1970 World Cup and Bobby Moore's "tackle of the century" on Pele and the one Hill made on Defoe in the second half was on a par with that. There were several others too that were nearly as good.My man of the match by some distance. |

Great report Clive, especially the Faurlin free-kick bit. You've hit the nail right on the head about our tactics in the second half.Practically inviting Hull to attack us like that and hoping we could cling on was a sure fire recipe for another disappointment.I turned to my brother at the game ten minutes before it happened and said why the hell are we playing like this.Maybe it's not done any permanent damage but it sure put a damper on what would have been a nigh-on perfect afternoon. |
