Not strange at all. An independent Wales and Scotland could not service the debt with the huge subsidies they gey from the UK .
What currencies would they use. If they stick with Stirling it will be the BOE that set their interests rates. If they adopt the Euro it would be Brussels who set their interests rates. Either way they would not be independent. You also forgot 80% of the Welsh population don't want independence and 56% of the Scottish population don't want independence either.
Strange how you try to force your minority views on the majority who have made their democratic decisions.
No but you keep quoting him the present tense saying the Barnett formula is not working when he said that over 20 years ago before devolution was even introduced in Wales.
Russia withdrew its fleet from the Tartus naval base in Syria as they could not guarantee its safety with the rebels advance
In 2022 Russia increase its presence at this bases as it was not longer able to sail its warships through the bosphorus straights in Turkey. It is not certain where its fleet is sailing to as it has no other naval bases in the Mediterranean. Some reports say the fleet will sail to Kaliningrad.
It seems Russia cannot protect its fleet or citizens In Syria as they know have limited air support in Russia and lack the logistics supplies to mount mass ait strikes in Russia.
Also today the Romania courts have declared the first round of its presidential elections void citing illegal activities by a foreign country and mass transfer of funds from from Russia to individual bank accounts in Romania.
Not quite correct Norway"s National debt is 42% of its GDP although it is falling every year.
It has huge gas and oil reserves and exports nearly all of it. It produces 90% of its electricity from hydroelectric as the rest from wind and geothermal. It is a twice as large as the UK with a population of just 5 million.
It also benefits from not being in the EU as the EU needs it's gas and oil.
The government could always nationlise farmland and run the farms themselves. A bit like Stalin did in the USSR which led to a 50% decrease in food production leading to a famine and millions starving. An estimated 7 to 9 million people in the USSR died of starvation.
If history tells us anything it is not to repeat the mistakes of the past .
We all agree that NI Scotland and Wales received more government spending per head of the population than England. That is a direct result of the Barnett formula.
Rather ironic Southampton saying they can't afford to pay his contract up when they were happy to poach a manager under contract without paying compensation.
A see the Snowdon National park authority is trying to stop farmers from allowing them to open suitable fields for tourist to park their cars while visiting the area. Apparently it is against thier plans for the National Park.
So traffic chaos will remain and farmers will be denied a much needed source of income. I guess the Senedd would rather collect parking fines themselves than solve the problem.
Do keep up Wales recives billions in Subsidies from the UK government and have done so for many years . They of course receive their share of corporation tax to pay for the NHS in Wales. I agree with you the Senedd let Tata steel Port Talbot with their zero carbon emissions policies. They stopped all Coal mining in Wales resulting in more expensive Coal having to be imported for Port Talbot.
