| Forum Thread | Bucha massacre at 01:54 23 Dec 2022
Reluctant to start anything more about Russia's invasion of Ukraine but I feel that this particular subject needs attention. Remember when a handful of people here did their best to try and deny Russia's war crimes in Bucha? Well here is the NY Times investigation into what happened. As conclusive as it gets with video footage, audio, images, call history etc. Of course it won't be a surprise to any normal person, but I do think that those who tried to spread Kremlin propaganda should be shamed for it. I would say 'ashamed', but they won't be, as you have to already have something quite wrong with you to support Russia in this. Investigation here. 30 minute video and report: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/video/russia-ukraine-bucha-massacre-takeaways [Post edited 23 Dec 2022 1:54]

| Forum Thread | Has the club lost the plot? at 14:58 31 Aug 2021
Why are we selling both Roberts and Lowe and why for such small amounts? Both players are worth far more than what we are selling them for. Kamikaze stuff. League 1 here we come. |
| Forum Thread | What's gone wrong? at 01:27 18 Mar 2021
Since around the time of that FA cup game against Man City (from memory) our performance levels have been awful. Compare that to the first 15 or so games of the season...i remember thinking that there hadn't really been a team that looked better than us. I know I'm not exactly saying anything revelationary here but something needs to change asap or we could see our season peter out miserably. |
| Forum Thread | American investment is ruining this club at 16:56 25 Aug 2018
I know, nothing new here but it's just getting more ridiculous by the day. Bad decision after bad decision. Are they actually expecting to do ok in the championship by selling off any decent players and fielding a team of kids? We could genuinely end up in league 1 next season, when we should be going for promotion. Actually we should never have gone down to the championship in the first place..it was totally avoidable with some common sense in the transfer market. Hard to get excited by a team when the board has shown the total opposite to the ambition they could have shown. |
| Forum Thread | Pretty shocked at 12:30 10 Aug 2018
...to see fans on here defending the way the board have behaved yet again in this transfer window. How can anyone see leaving ourselves with just one central defender and refusing to spend an extra 500k on a solid championship midfielder, when we have yet again made the highest net profit in a transfer window as acceptable? What was it...40 million or so? ...and how much do we get in parachute payments again too? Looks very much like the owners couldn't give a toss about going for promotion or the fans who support and make the club what it is. They don't care about you so why defend them? | Forum Thread | Early business at 12:50 9 Jan 2018
Just wanted to say how great it is that the club have concluded their January business early to help us with the essential games coming up and ensure that new players can train and blend in with the side. Also, how great it is to see the Americans put money into the club to take us to the next level. They are very wise in knowing their £100m investment would certainly be reduced in worth to less than £15m had they failed to invest to keep us safe and strong in this league. Model club. |

Anyone else think we could do with strengthening in this area? Naughton is for me an ok player but not a solid PL player. Rangel is getting on a bit.. |
| Forum Thread | Have the Americans spent any money? at 12:29 23 Jul 2017
Last season, if i remember correctly, we were the only team to make a net profit on transfers with the Americans refusing to put their hand in their pockets. As a result we struggled and would have gone down were it not for a couple of key players. If rumors are anything to go by it now seems that we may be willing to sell those key players for a price so that yet again the Americans can make a nice little profit and the expense of the club and the fans. Last year they will have had a scare but in the end were able to make a nice return on their investment with some of the sky money. I can't help thinking that unless we both keep our key players AND spend in key areas that the Americans are starting to take the p*ss... |
| Forum Thread | Real wages falling at 19:34 14 Jun 2017
It's now beyond any doubt that people really did vote to make themselves poorer on June 23rd 2016. That crash in the £ the morning of the referendum results never recovered and here we are one year later after months of price rises and inflation is outpacing any wage growth. Still, leavers know best... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/uk-growth-rate-miss-april-expect Time we scrapped this Brexit shambles or made it softer than the tackles that Chico Flores used to go down from. |

Well done to all the players and fans, and Clement and staff. Special mentions to Llorente, Britton, Sigurdsson, Olsson, Mawson, Carroll and Ayew. But everyone has been excellent recently. Some much needed signings were made in January - far too late but they came eventually. Hope we learn our lessons now and the Americans spend well this summer. Do things on the cheap and we may not be so lucky next season. |

Got a bad feeling that the Palace result tonight has all but secured our fate.. With their run in and playing Hull I felt that 1) they were maybe catchable 2) More likely to give Hull a tough game when they play them. i know that there are 4 games left but in a two horse race with Hull playing the way they are for their manager I just can't see us leapfrogging them. We have to somehow pull off a win at Utd next week and hope for the best with Hull. Utd have injuries and we have to believe there is a chance...no negative BS please Clement..take the game to them and make Mourinho sulk. Every player has to be play like their life depends on it. |
| Forum Thread | I still don't understand at 20:03 28 Jan 2017
Why the american's are prepared to take such a risk on us going down and their club worth £100million being worth £25million next year. How hard would it have beem for them to go fot that one big signing |
| Forum Thread | Don't want to criticise Curtis... at 03:52 30 Dec 2016
but there seems to be a lack of acceptance at the club that we are missing quality in the team these days: http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38457191 (the video) I mean it's great that he and others have faith in their players as coaches but if the message back to Huw and the Americans from coaches is that the squad is strong enough then naturally they're not going to be as active in the transfer window as they might have been. I think anyone can see that we lack quality in our side by now, particularly in defence. Seems to me that we've been lacking a strong manager who could come in and shake things up, ...identifying players quickly who aren't pulling their weight/aren't up to it and demanding assistance from the board in terms of transfers. Guidolin was a good guy and very experienced but acted as a coach rather than manager and Bob Bradley was just not up to speed at this level. I don't really see why our next manager needs to be British either? Is that just for the sake of getting someone in quickly? All i care about is that they are experienced in a top league, take no nonsense and maybe most importantly have good contacts (and leverage) for January recruitment. [Post edited 30 Dec 2016 3:58]

| Forum Thread | Are those who run our club stupid? at 16:58 28 Dec 2016
I mean...BBC are running the story that Giggs and Coleman are the frontrunners and that we hope to have a new manager in place by Monday. How can they seriously consider Giggs? A man whose only experience in management was putting the cones out for Alex Ferguson in training and someone who would undoubtedly be disliked as a character down here? As for Coleman...doing a great job for Wales..but as a PL manager to keep us in this league under pressure? Who exactly is he going to bring in to the club? Neil Taylor would be his first name on the team sheet each week. Both to me sound like disasters waiting to happen. They could scout anywhere in the world and these two are the favourites... |
| Forum Thread | Thanks for the PL memories. at 16:46 26 Dec 2016
I hope that the American owners feel the full force of the fans anger for taking over a club and deciding to make a profit in the transfer window despite us clearly struggling last season. Bradley should obviously go tonight if they have any decency and we should now look to get back to our footballing roots with a view to championship football next year. Defence should be strengthened regardless but it will be hard to attract quality players now. |
