To be honest we should be beating sh!t teams in red and we probably will but I would settle for the draw.
Could be hard, even harder than Stoke City away, a few KI points/observations* *IMO
A) We cannot under any circumstances play the high line as displayed by Arsene Wenger during Liverpool's demolition of Arsenal, because we would get destroyed. Wenger's been in this game over 20 years and got schooled by Brendan Rodgers. Brendan himself appears to have tweaked his philosophy to get it into Suarez as early as possible and to play in their pacey wide players as soon as the opportunity arises. We must defend deep whilst finding a way to transition from defence into midfield/attack and if that involves using the long ball so be it, we must be adaptable.
B) Pablo Hernandez hopefully will start in behind Wilfried again, he has the quality to play in our wingers and Wilf and can do serious damage against any team in the Premier League, often saving his best for these 'bigger' games, he took Liverpool apart in the League Cup game last season and was MOTM at the Liberty Stadium in the 0-0.
C) GM's been in his job just over a week and already does midfields better than the perfectionist, from the moment Leon re-signed in January of 2011 a midfield 3 of Britton - Allen - Scott Dobbie was always the way forward. We also lost at the Britannia 2-0 there's another thing he can mark down in his notebook, are you listening Raheen! Raheem? Whatever his name is.

*FFS Mark Gower keep it down! **We conceded the game before we turned up.
Recent history suggests we can certainly compete with them and I'm sure GM's lads will do just that.
The trump card in all of this could be that while Garry Monk knows a Brendan Rodgers team talk inside out, does Brendan know a Garry Monk team talk?
Like I said in another thread, whilst Michu carries more of a goal threat Pablo is much better at picking out KI passes, IMO.
I would LOVE to see the following.
Leon-------Michu
------Pablo-------
What would be your midfield 3?
Michu is always good defensively even when played as an out and out striker, he's also as energetic as Pratley + Shelvey combined. I believe he could hit double figures from this position, and he'd always carry his threat from set pieces.
I'm not in any way attempting to discredit his achievements with the mighty Athletic Club, he was my #1 target. But outside of that I have no knowledge of him.
EDIT - Their board have a similar ethos to ours (on a bigger scale and using Basques only)
Despite losing the irreplaceable (for them) Fernando Llorente Torres & Javi Martinez Athletic are still pushing for a CL spot and are doing better in La Liga than they were under Bielsa in fact.
ATHLETIC 1-0 BarcĀ£lona. EDIT - Should had been 3. Iker Muinain missed a sitter & so did Torquero from 2 yards out.
ATHLETIC 1-1 Real $hite. Comfortable most the game. CR7 sent off. Jajaja.
This season. EDIT - Still undefeated I think in La Liga, at home.
For all you initial dissenters and you know who you are Cefncoedjack, Wawrickhunt (Great name) and countless other random fountains of knowledge, do you still want him out?
Come on it's a simple question so answer it then justify it like I answered why I thought Monk was the man for the job then justified why.
Who the f*ck deleted my thread? It did not breach site rules. A GM dissenter? It could not had been for personal abuse because I took pelters when I suggested GM would be up to it.
The moment Raynor94 expressed his doubts GM should had been offered a 10 year deal there and then.
Then again, as the current leader explained, football is a game of opinions and we all have our own.
My opinion (Pre Cardiff City) was that GM would do a good job. P.s - Who was that clown who c*nted him off for his interviewing skills, did you ever listen to Fergie speak? On that basis he shouldn't had managed Saturday League.
Get on the bevvies and mark down the lyrics because we ARE going to win, just like against the SCUM.
And it's Swansea City, Swansea City FC, we're the greatest team in Football, the world has ever seen!
Napoli ain't ready for this kinda technology.
SCFC!
And remember if worst comes to the worst, just remember, 3 f*cking 0!
Just smile! You know he would have.
Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaardiff Jacks represent!, they'll be singing Hymns & Arias all over Ely, Splott AND Fairwater come tomorrow night mark it down, the few dissenters will be RED with envy.
There's only 1 team in Wales. #WearYourColours
Do it for Cookie!
Fair play to the LAD, If I was doing Charlotte Jackson I wouldn't give a f*ck about the Wales job either.
Although, I still prefer Hayley McQueen (SSN Addict + Perv)
Is a talented player, no doubt. I bet he would look awesome on the training ground.
But unless I'm going blind he can't pick a through ball to save his life nor has the speed/vision to do so.
For me he is the most frustrating player at Swansea City, especially when deployed as the #10. IDGAF about his pass completion statistics. Ki had awesome pass completion statistics and he didn't have many fans down here did he? Let's be honest. And he has looked a different player at Sunderland though, although his pass completion rate has dropped!
Back on topic, when trying to set something up 90% of the time he takes a day and then some more time to make a cuppa before he releases the ball, by then if he manages to get something off our attackers are offside and 95% of the time whilst doing this he gets the ball taken off him. The other 8% of time when he gets it off quickly he either over/under hits it, very rarely it comes off for him. The remaining 2% of the time when he releases it early it comes off for him but I honestly can't remember the last time he set up a goal from open play.
Having said that I'd rather the '8%' any time of the day rather than watching him get the ball taken from him, from a 2 yard head start.
Gylfi Sigurdsson + Pablo = Sh!t pass completion.
Would rather Luke Moore as a #10 at least he can pick a pass.
BUT despite my above criticisms he looked a different player in his run out at Stoke and his goal at Everton was my favourite JDG goal ever even though he's scored some stunners, simply because of the determination he showed to get on the end of it, it's not a characteristic I normally associate with De Guzman.
Much like the GM appointment, I'm sure most will disagree but assuming everyone was 100% fit and available I'd be interested to see the following team, especially against 'weaker' opposition.
*Dependant on the opposition and/or result needed.
Whilst Michu carries more of a goal threat, in my personal opinion Pablo is better at linking up with our other forward players, Wilfried and the wide men. He's the best player of a through ball we've got and after his recent form I'd be gutted to see him left out and he's unlikely to displace Routledge on left wing.
Meanwhile, Michu could make Shelvey esque runs from midfield and if Jonjo can score 4, 5? then it's my gut feeling that Michu could hit double figures at least and would still be a threat from set pieces, he's certainly up for a fight he's always tackling back and even if you think I'm talking sh!t it's also worth remembering it's a position he played for many years in Spain and he's one of the most energetic players in the squad
He would also provide a good 'target man' in midfield and if deployed as a get ball, give ball 'link up' man I'm sure he could achieve 90%+ pass completion stats too.
But at the end of the day I'll back whatever team the leader decides, he's doing a good job so far isn't he?
EDIT - Michu + Pablo have a good combo going on, like N Dizz & Angel. P.s I am NOT a troll, like the supreme leader I only want the best results for SCFC.
If we'd produced a similar performance under any manager against a tidy team, including Brendan Rodgers, Bobby? Robbie!, THE Michael Laudrup or even Nick Cusack/Roger Freestone using a 'B-Team' I wouldn't had any complaints whatsoever. You can't legislate for individual errors, especially from a usually very capable defender in Neil Taylor.
Up until then in my eyes we were very comfortable in the game and more than a match for Everton.
Some of our more inexperienced players lost their way (And heart?) a bit after Everton's second goal but I'm proud of the lads, and IF we'd had a better striker than Alvaro we may had got something out of the game.
Disappointed for my boy Jazz that he gave away the penalty because up until then I thought he had a solid game, better that what Tiendalli would produce, he was a bit too committed perhaps.
Like I said before the game all or nothing please, at least it didn't go to a replay. The leader stated his intentions when he put Leroy Lita on. The lads out there gave it their best shot, it's my gut feeling that we could had even lost the game using our best 11.
In conclusion I thought the lads out there performed well for the most part, were committed, and the lads seem to be buying into the supreme leader Garry Monk's masterplan.
The players are looking sharp it's also encouraging that we have potential decent options to bring on from the bench, Lamah's ball into JDG was Pabloooooooooo esque and it was a great run from JDG himself and as everyone knows I'm his biggest fan*, with his performance today & his run out at Stoke he's looking a different player.
Rolling on to the Napoli game, bring it on, I expect the first 11 will be on show. I wouldn't worry because even if we lose the first leg 0-2, De Guzman will go to Napoli and produce a Roy Keane esque performance whilst silencing the hostile Naples crowd & score a hat-trick to put us through.
Nah in all seriousness, we really need to get a result at Stadium del Liberty, bring it on.
