Auckland is a stunning place and has a massive Korean / Chinese population, I went into several shops where there was no English signage even. The skytower is awesome, if you go on a really windy day you can feel it sway.
if your driving down to New Plymouth then Hamilton is well worth a stopover.
Wellington is a great city and place to explore before getting the ferry over to the south island.
If you then drive down through the wine country make sure you stop at Kaikoura, it's only a small town but a great stopover.
Christchurch is very British and still has some rebuilding going on.
Further south lake Tekapo and Queenstown are essential places to visit aswell as the fjords and Milford Sound.
Driving is really easy over there and Kiwis are as layed back as anyone.
Drinks plenty of Speights, eat lots of pies and get a decent spray for the sandflies, enjoy. |

Not the coldest weather but the coldest I've ever been at a game, Norwich away end of 81 season. Stood in the freezing North Sea wind wearing a Hawaiian shirt and grass skirt, seemed funny in the pub but nearly froze.
Do I remember correctly a game during the plastic pitch era when we were the only game on in London due to a decent amount of snow and they bought some prisoners from the Scrubs to clear our pitch? |

Port Vale away, night match in the Greggs / Lidl / C&A cup, we got turned over as our players really didn't turn up. Can't even recall the score, got my middle lad in cheap as a "yoof" but one of West Mids finest spotted me buying him a pint at half-time and took it off him. Not really one of my best Rangers memories. |

Good to see a full and frank debate at least.
I'll keep my powder dry for now, the one thing I noticed this week was that the Qatari's are drafting in thousands of Turkish riot police. I don't know who else would be able to police this, maybe so many from each country but I cannot see this ending well. |
