4-1 (having checked, thought it was 4-2) and IIRC Pascoe got a hat trick. It was season 1986-87. There were a few hooligans that day, unfortunately. Remember that header very well. [Post edited 9 Aug 2018 22:09]

Just saying.... Nothing on BBC or SKY and the latter have been reporting every scrap of apparent news all day. |

There was a time, when clubs drew players from 10-15 miles around their ground and a good degree of loyalty with some because of it. Modern footballers follow the money and with so much cash in the game against a short career, what does anyone expect them to do? If somebody offered (let's say) 3-4 times your wage for the same job, wouldn't most people consider that, even if you factor in travel? That figure is speculative because wages aren't always disclosed in soccer. We're a relegated side offloading those who (like it or not) were instrumental, to a greater or lesser extent in our demotion. It all depends how we add to it and I'm not that thrilled with the likes of Declan John or Sean Clare TBH (assuming the latter has actually signed). |

Not exactly prolific for the Foxes. |

I recall us beating Scarborough 3-0 that season. |

The end of that was scary: the walk into the forest, with that unsettling chant in the background. |

That is a good one, but I was going to add 'Ghost Story' (1981) And still the most frightening horror movie I've seen: 'Salem's Lot' (1979) Not the remake of 2004, that was awful. |

Just checked the two results that season. We lost 4-0 at Sincil Bank and won 2-0 at the Vetch. |

My recollection is that we beat and sent them down, 2-0 on the last day of 1986-87 and then went up the following season. We were well placed for a promotion push in 1986-87, until we lost Dudley. They actually thumped us 4-0 in the reverse fixture, earlier that season; a guy called Lund got a hat trick. [Post edited 17 Jan 2017 22:12]

How constructive can you be after a 4-0 hammering and Liverpool next? I agree that some of the wild nonsense should stop, but it is what it is. Palace are floundering and we can't take advantage. Hull have signed at least 1 good player and won today. Jack, we're in trouble. |

And from having looked at the next 5 fixtures, only 2 suggest any real contest for the points. If we don't win at least 1 of those, we probably are booked into the Championship. |

I don't see us falling through the floor all the way to L2 (again). Beyond argument that we need to see what these new players can do. |

Money talks yes, but there isn't any real comparison between the Liberty and Stamford Bridge, If this happens and he goes, he'll be playing for the (possible) champions, as opposed to a (probable) relegation team. Champions League football too. |
