Well yes and no. Yes - you are right in todays world. No - the future is to play for. Swansea City Women drew a crowd of 3,859 against Wrexham at the Swansea.com Stadium. A one off i know, but it hints at their potential. Our under 21’s get one man and a dog for a comparison. Lets see how the Cymru team qualifying for the Euros again generates additional interest. |

Can ‘we’ afford to fund the English Arts Council ? Its ten times the cost of Welsh language spend. |

The BBC are fantastic in correctly pronouncing towns in far off lands if there is a war. However Llanelli or Llandudno remain beyond their professional capabilities. Election night is going to be box office. |

Its not. The languages do enjoy equal status in public sector bodies when dealing with citizens. But in areas not dealing with citizens … then its a choice. Currently, private companies can decide themselves what kind of Welsh language services such as signage and translation services they can offer. There really should be language standards for national private bodies, such as banks which operate on a national level in Wales. Some companies such as Lidl provide equal Welsh and English signage in stores, with announcements being made in Welsh before English. However, this is not the standard in the private sector. Water, energy and bus companies are not obliged to provide services in Welsh. But i welcome your support for true language parity. |

But if you are slagging off Welsh Govt by comparing welsh language spend vs hospital needs, then lets hear you slag UK Govt by comparison of English Arts Council spend vs hospital needs. Please feel free to go ahead …. |

Well the current military deserves far better than the idiots in charge in govt getting us into a nuclear exchange. Churchill said …’jaw jaw, not war war’ and he was right. Somebody said …..’i don't know what weapons will be used in WW3, but WW4 will be sticks and stones’. Chilling. |

Many SMEs have lost work due to Brexit. The big boys can handle the red tape but the SMEs cant.
We tried to tell people that they were being lied to .. |

Young people do not need the charts to listen to what they want to listen to. That BBC power, as was, is gone - thankfully. Now we just need to get rid of the BBC. Defund it, few would pay for it given a choice. |

Its the economic disaster that is Brexit. Starmer will end up having to be honest rather than suggest he can make it work - nobody can. But at least Brexit took back control of immigration, so there is that comfort ….. 🇬🇧 |

And their right. Tired old rich men sending other peoples children to be slaughtered is nothing much to be proud of. |

Well no. The correct extrapolation relates to England, Scotland, and whole of the island of Ireland. Britain is an outdated politcal union, imposed originally by force of arms. Your passport, your taxes, and your BBC reflect that fact. I was talking about nations, like Wales. |

Good that you agree. Peace is so much better for the young. |

Buying and manufacturing weapons, kit, and logistical support are quite important in conflict. As are international relations. Do you think Putin fears our UK military ? |
| Forum Reply | Second BREXIT Referendum at 18:32 22 Dec 2024
Well i think thats a quite different question to that which the academics looked at. Its pretty simple for Plaid in the anyone who lives, works, and contributes to Wales is Welsh, its an inclusive civic nationalism. Its not about years nor DNA nor language. Do you have a different view ? |
