I wouldn't have thought that I was either desperate nor easily offended, but I see your point. There is no doubt that the piece may not fully reflect the whole of the interview.
However, there has been a succession of players given a chance at this club in recent years, and invariably shipped out because of a need for funds, and I cannot recall one that has shown so little grace upon leaving.
Rochdale facilitated his leaving for bigger and better things, at Blackpool, under Ince, having rescued his career and affording him a shop window. A little, tiny acknowledgement would have gone a long way, don't you think? |

Why would it be that training at a league two club doesnt make you fit enough to play at Championship level ?
Why cant league two professional footballers not aquire the fitness levels of a Championship player ?
His comment undermines Hills training regime.

Precisely. One thing former and current players, and those with experience of Hilly's regime, always comment on is the level of fitness he insists on. It's evident when watching his sides play. Ince's comment is disrespectful to Hill and League 2 in general, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some response in the media from our side. However, having watched Grant amble round the pitch at Halifax for 70 minutes I wonder if maybe Grant wasn't giving his all in pre-season training?
