Owls not impressed with the school end on 22:26 - Jan 26 by Boston
Perfectly justified in their criticism, though I don't think we're selling those restricted view seats anymore.
Those seats up in the corner haven’t been sold for years. Nothing to stop an away fan from strolling over there to take a quick pic and claim they’d been sold the seat though.

Thery're 100% right - it's absolutely shocking! Whatever's going on with the ticket sales on the ground these days, the architect who was on the job with that 'Business Lounge' metal box obviously doesn't give two hoots for fans!
I'd excuse Sheff Wed fans for not knowing this but the "business lounge" is actually a TV studio that we were mandated to install for Sky when we were in the Premier League. Obviously Sky don't give a sht about us now we're in the division below so it sits there empty every week and the club quite rightly monetises that where they can be renting it out as an exec box. The seats behind it are no longer sold.
TBH it feels like a matter of time before something happens in that stand. It's not fit for purpose. But I'm certainly not taking any abuse, criticism or anything else about our away end from the club that charges £40 to go in the literal death trap that is still the Leppings Lane end, dealing with the world's cntiest stewards on the way in for good measure.
Agree with everything. Away fans love spreading the "restricted view" seats narrative. You can clearly see (during the match) the corners of that end aren't sold but let's walk over there and say we paid £150 for it. Bloody London. Had the pleasure of attending Hillsborough for the 1st time this season, bigger concourse than the school end but an absolute hole nonetheless. Safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed Lloyd's equaliser. Good pubs though.

Wednesday fans criticising any other ground shows an astonishing lack of self awareness.
It's not their supporters' fault that Hillsborough is still such a poor away, just as it's not our fault that our away end concourse looks like that. Ellerslie Road at half time is also not that far away from something serious happening.

Absolutely. We need to hear more criticism from away supporters, perhaps their own clubs could make a statement on their fans behalf too.
The owners have consistently ignored their own fans, largely getting away on the grounds of it being old school and a proper ground etc but let’s be honest, it’s a dump compared with practically every other London ground, whether they’ve sniffed the Premier or not.
I’m sure I’m not the only one with toes like a boxers knuckles, crammed into shit seats, knowing I’ll always turn up and basically get taken for granted.
It’s not good enough and whilst they know it, they don’t lift a finger to do anything about it.

All well and good but what do you think the owners can do to improve the lack of space and lack of legroom at Loftus Road with the current infrastructure? New ground would be the only option.

Another 'new stadium' thread incoming in 3...2...1....
As others have said, tickets are not sold in that corner so gives clever clogs people cheap thrills to move over there, take a photo and claim how disgusting it is that QPR sell tickets there and sit back and enjoy the attention.
Someone replied on the post "L**ds got both top and bottom last year along with many other clubs. Yet we only get the top" - victim mentality, even moreso when in reality Leeds just got a few of the central blocks and first few rows netted off.
look at 15 seconds, hardly the whole tier.

Thanks for reclarifying the historical picture, Northern. Oddly, I don't remember this being part of any club publicity when we went up, and I can find nothing about it online to refresh my memory. I think technically the requirements that 'mandated' this ill-positioned monstrosity come from the Premier League (albeit with Sky as their arguable overlords), but that's perhaps a tad pedantic.
Personally, once we were back in the Champ, I'd have taken it down again and reopened up all the away seats just to avoid this kind of shitty PR. It's irksome in such a small ground like ours we're constantly shaving off bits of ground capacity for one reason and another - the latest being the blocked-off front rows of the lower School End.
I guess this one will run and run until we rebuild or move on.
Yes we know its cramped etc - But we must of had a safety certificate otherwise we could not open the stand. The exit for the top tier is via SAR but in an emergency we could also allow fans to leave via Ellerslie Road (as per the bottom tier for Home fans) so that probably allows us to continue to operate.
If only we could purchase the school it would open up so many more opportunities for ground improvements. Chris Wright missed a trick there.

Need to keep it there for when we go back up
Also, probably logistical issues taking down and putting it back up. Probably better & safer just to leave it even if it does mean we can't sell some seats and we get people virtue signalling about it.

Interesting your use of adjective regarding the stewards.
When I went there 8 or so years ago, in the stand, during the game, they seemed to be mostly late middle aged angry bastards intent on winding people up to get something going. Never, before or since, have I seen stewards so (or at all really) keen for actually starting trouble.

Never forgiven them for what happened to Dave Thomas at the promotion match.

Having called all Wednesday fans moaning Northerns , I actually found the fans of theirs I spoke to , were very nice indeed.
Yep, the few we encountered in the Shepherd & Flock were decent folk and up for a chat. However, the collection of life's misfits in The Swan at Hammersmith on the other hand before the game were a different matter.
