Sorry, I’m not buying it.

He played yesterday against a scuffling Championship side which had its best two CB’s out injured.

He found his level.

If anybody is interested in signing him this month, we should snap their hands off.

He did very little for us in the Championship last season.

Poll: When will Martin be sacked?

Sulemana was the best Saints player on the pitch last night. Credit where credit's due. He had the Utd right-back on toast most of the game. It shows he can perform to Prem standards even though he was probably showcasing.

Utd can compete with any team on their day, as shown recently against Liverpool and Man City, but Saints were the dominant team in the first half and frankly should have gone in at the break two or three goals to the better. Yet we just haven't got the players or the consistency or the killer instinct to compete at this level. Last night's first half at least showed what is possible - which has to be encouraging, to some extent, to me at least.

Juric has changed Sulemana in a few games and credit has to go to Juric as well - a proper manager showing what we've missed this season.

Sulemana's performance was genuinely exciting and if he can continue that in a Saints shirt that's brilliant. OK, he hasn't proved his consistency yet, and needs to get his head sorted out, but if we lose him, it'll be a very long time before we find a better player. Edozie is half the player.

Saints were terrific in the first half last night but were effectively doomed once Dibling had to go off and this handed over the impetus to Utd, particularly Amad who KWP just couldn't cope with. We should have doubled up on that side, Taylor would have been a better option in that position with KWP or Manning moved up.

You're absolutely right, KWP's defensive limitations were exposed again.
He just is not good enough to deal with players like Diallo & we should have brought on Manning to man Mark Diallo.
Once players like Diallo get on the ball they are unplayable so you have to stop their supply at source by man marking you reduce the chances of him getting the ball.

I don't believe that Manning has the pace and positional awareness to man-mark a player with the speed and skill of Diallo.

Taylor doesn't feature regularly enough and at 30, probably doesn't have the pace, but perhaps has experience on his side.

Larios may be the answer if anyone has even seen him this season !!

KWP was the probably the lesser of all the evils and him playing on the left at least allowed us to shoehorn 3 right backs into our starting XI.

The trouble is, even if we had stopped Diallo, United on paper at least, have plenty of other players who could have done something similar. We should have killed the game off in the 1st half.

I only suggested Manning to man Mark Diallo because I couldn't think of anyone else in our Squad that could do it.
You're right Mannings lack of pace might have been a problem but he is a trier & would have stuck to the task.
Last night Diallo was the only threat from Man U.
The rest of them looked pretty ordinary & disinterested.

Amad Diallo is a brilliant player, who's very difficult to stop. But, like all players, he was aware that KWP is not strong with his left foot: a fatal flaw for a left-back, which makes him easy to get past on the outside. So, I agree with you about Manning. He should have been brought on at left-back so that KWP could play in his best position on the right.

Charlie Taylor would have been the best defensive sub and Amo-Ameyaw would have been our best attacking sub, but neither of them was even on the bench.

Juric has clearly found our best pairing up front in Sulemana and Dibling and I think he'll stick with it, but I'd like to see Amo-Ameyaw just behind them. They are not great finishers, but they are the best forwards we have available right now.

Sulemana won't play in the Championship next season as he thinks he's too good for it, which understandably riled a lot of our fans last season. But, anyway, we might as well make use of him for the remainder of this season, before he goes. A few more good performances from him will increase his transfer value in the summer.

If so, it's yet another mistake. He's fast and more skilful than most of our players and we really need to see what he can do in the Premier League. He was brilliant playing with Sulemana in that 4-4 draw with Liverpool. He's a regular in the England U19 team, and his England team mates, like Lewis-Skelly, Acheampong and Nwaneri, are playing for top Premier League sides.

I can't stand Sulemana and he clearly has a terrible attitude BUT watching highlights from the Man U game, it is quite clear he is the only player in our woeful squad (maybe with the exception of Dibling) who can take a player on and go past him at pace.

Pace is essential in the prem and we are one of the slowest teams I can ever remember seeing. It's the biggest difference to the championship where you can just about get away with not having huge pace (hence our dodgy promotion last season...).

It looks to me like Juric is trying to inject some urgency and speed into our game and it is good to Sulemana actually doing what it was claimed he was all about when we first signed him. I hope he builds fitness and consistency for a few games now, and I like the front 3 that Juric played of Fernandes, Dibling and Sulemana. Jo Tessem made a good point on Solent where he said when you have that amount of pace, it is just so simple. Literally kick it and run after it faster than the defender and you are in business.

Under Martin we were the very definition of over complicating the game - for me, I agree with Juric's approach and use of Sulemana. Keep it simple, get him into areas where he can run at people and let him go.

I remember when we were linked with Diallo and were supposedly ready to buy him after he was banging them in for Sunderland and not getting a game for United. Another nice piece of business, Rasmus!

Sulemana and most attacking players eg Alcaraz would have been bored shitless of Martins tippy tappy crap and who can blame them.

Sulemana has obviously been told to do what he wants now and I think we’ll see a few more exciting displays from him. It’s just a shame we don’t have a centre forward who can bang his crosses in .

A scoring Centre Forward = The Missing Link.
