Great memories of Vic. Probably my favourite is the support and encouragement he gave while coaching me at Underhill Park. Yes the Swans players used to do that sort of thing while still playing.

Vic was the Lee Trundle of his era ( without the tricks).
Like Trunds he settled in the area after his playing days and went on to be just as popular a figure off the field as on. [Post edited 12 Dec 16:10]

When our Swans went bust after the Tosh years then there was an SOS appeal - Save Our Swans.
Vic himself was stood with a plastic SOS bucket near MandS entrance in city centre collecting coins and notes.
I donated just like everyone else at the time, and he thanked every single person who chipped in.
RIP Vic and thank you.

Len Allchurch , Herbie , Dai Gwyther alongside Tony Millington under the NB lights , what great memories of that part of my growing up , never to be forgotten by myself .
Stadiums and Clubs have moved on to be a plaything for wealthy owners now .
Vic Gomersall will always be a name remembered from them great experiences back in the dark days of a wet Tuesday night , maybe 2 ,000 fans watching .

He was also a Life Member of Swansea Junior League in which he helped promote it to this day. RIP Sir , so many deeds left unsaid. | |

Yeah, Curt came down Underhill and took Mumbles Rangers training a few times back in the 90's. He was with Haverfordwest by then I think, right towards the end of his playing days but being the legend he is we all loved it.
Hardest training sessions I ever did too. Only realised how knackered I was when I sat down though because they were great fun. | | | |

Vic really was a 'boy and threequarters!' A genuine character.
Vic 'Bombersall,' as, like a number of posters have said, he used to barrel-chested 'bomb' up the wing and was a real crowd pleaser.
I remember when Vic had finished his 'League' career and he was playing for Chelmsford City. My parents and I were on holiday in Marbella and one day, as we sat by the poolside, who should walk in...but Vic. Chelmsford were on a summer tour and ended up staying at our hotel. Because of knowing him and our mutual love of the Swans, we spent a lot of time together during that holiday.
And it's typical of so many players over the years, but after his playing days he returned to live in Swansea. Having a car dealership in 'LA' (Lower 'Afod) he went on to have a strong working association with 'Sir Mel Nurse.' and was a genuine bloke, who always had time for people.
So sad that he's gone, RIP Vic, you were a real hero of many, me in particular when growing up and watching the Swans at the Vetch. |  | | |
