Kolli on 07:52 - Dec 8 by Wilkinswatercarrier | I was surprised when he came on as well, but what do I know! One thing I noticed was his upper body strength was much improved. He was competing yesterday, even managing to win headers, holding players off. Compared to the WBA game it was chalk and cheese. Reminds me a bit of Chris Willock in his second season; improved strength, starting to ride challenges, happy to take a shot. He's quite a tall lad as well which I never noticed before. |
He's 5' 11" so it's the hair that puts several inches on his height.

Kolli on 20:34 - Dec 7 by E15Hoop | https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2024/december/07/kolli-post-norwich/ This has just gone up on the official site, and I have to say, I think he comes across very well. Quite balanced, quite humble but not shy - very aware that there's more work to do if he wants to get to the level of playing regulaly and that his all-round game is important. |
I've never listened to the guy's commentary, so I must assume he's good at that. But he is a dreadful interviewer, probably the worst I can recall even in the field of soft-ball football club employee interviewers. He is the pits. He never asks anything that could draw insight, about anything. The first three questions here are all variations on how did it feel to score (in itself a terrible question: the better question is to describe the goals). Ask him about getting back in the team! He makes Nick London seem like Nick Robinson. To have him doing post-match interviews every week is like someone hitting the first man with every corner and never coming off corners. I know it's not important, really, at all, but it's just another weird thing at modern QPR. I'd love to know the internal staff gossip about this season. One day hopefully.
Kolli on 08:47 - Dec 8 with 3546 views | gazza1 | Did well yesterday, played good overall, fair play to him. Has got talent. It is only one match though so lets not go too overboard, like many do (Sensational - reallyl!!!!). Took his first goal very well. Goalkeeper should have saved his 2nd goal despite a good strike. Remember his first start of the season v WBA?? Hopefully all this stuff about contracts & his Father is not true.
Kolli on 09:11 - Dec 8 with 3487 views | stevec | Played very well and all the stuff already said about him. Don’t think this should disguise the club that we still need another CF. Frey has spent most of 2024 injured, no reason to expect otherwise going forward. Celar had been dreadful and only shown signs of life in the last two games. Vaguely recall a player, Dean Neal possibly, scoring two in his first game and that was that. Not suggesting that will happen with Kolli, he has looked ok out wide here and there, but I imagine Norwich were as blindsided as we were when Kolli went straight up front. Don’t believe this was some master plan from the manager, we were literally out of centre forwards. He did look good and made runs a CF should be making, but defences will get used to him and without options we can run back into trouble again.

To be fair, Kolli has had a pretty consistent(if not spectacular) rise since he started getting involved. As DMM can probably attest, he’s been scoring regularly and performing well in the development squad, had a very good pre season v Spurs, and is now entering the first team and performing. Just doesn’t feel like a Tom Hitchcock or Antonio German situation to me. I’m going to assume that is just been a contract situation that has kept him out.

Kolli on 00:18 - Dec 8 by GaryHaddock | Anyone who saw him v Spurs preseason would have started him or at least have him involved a lot this season. There was 15,000 that day I think so I reckon a few of us don’t deserve that comment. No proof, but I suspect Nourry‘s belligerence over contract negotiations has probably damaged our season by keeping him out. I expect confirmation this week after a arbitrary delay. |
Yeah there are quite a few who’ve seen him in the reserves who have been extolling the kid’s virtues for a while. And a lot of us that don’t watch the reserves saw enough in Kolli’s substitute outings for the first team to see that he’s got something about him. Of course he’s not the finished article but what a great performance leading the line yesterday to build on

He did a pinpoint cross to set up our goal to go one up. Yes, he wasn't great after that, but he has hardly played in the championship. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

No proof, but just another 'dig' at Nourry about contracts, and another, suggesting that MC is not permitted to pick Killi for first team action because of contract negotiations. Wow what next!!! I understand that you have some sort of 'inside info' about the club, be interesting how you get the info......just interested thats all.
Kolli on 14:01 - Dec 8 with 2668 views | LazyFan | He plays similarly to Papa Furlong (@North, that's copyrighted :P). People said he was bad with WBA, but I thought he was okay, and he did an assist for Andersen for our only goal. But he's only on the subs bench as Frey and Lloyd are out and Celar got injured for him to come on. He's not a LW like Chair and we have Saito anyway as backup. No, he's a Centre forward of the Furlong mode for me. If he starts against Oxford, I wonder who his backup forward will be on the subs bench. that's what happens when you too few forwards and run out of them when injuries happen. If Kohli has to come off, Madsen up front?

I agree and miss Nick London a lot. As for Kolli, what a way to open your account! On that performance, he can really make his mark here. Had that shot for his hat-trick curved in at the far post, I think the roof would have come off (if LR had a roof). He looks the hairy business!

Kolli on 08:05 - Dec 8 by Rsole | Let’s hope he gets a win bonus and a goal bonus, whilst they consider a new memorandum of understanding, top secret contract, NDA and prenup. https://capology.com/club/qpr/salaries/ Quite a drop down to his salary as it stands - assuming that this data is correct and quite a few better earners with limited contribution so far this season. They also provide some transparency into contract duration in the table. |
Have you read the disclaimer? "All salary figures are estimates and do not represent official figures. Verified players are sourced from public reporting and/or sources close to Capology. Unverified players have salary estimates generated by Capology's algorithms. In some cases, unverified players are sourced from reporting that has not been duly confirmed. Players marked in gray are inactive and/or have had their contract terminated for a fee. Players marked in blue are on loan with no distinction between options or obligations to buy. Players on loan may have multiple salary estimates, representing the division of salary between the two clubs. Salary coverage may be limited or incomplete." In short, it's made up.

Lloyd was on the Bench yesterday so he is probably fit again. I guess Kolli will start for Oxford with Lloyd on the Bench, but perhaps they will manage Kolli's minutes due to the 3 game week.

Kolli on 20:43 - Dec 7 by bosh67 | His physicality and strength is very impressive. Based on today he could be an absolute nightmare for defenders in a way that Armstrong never was. This kid has got the skill and football brain to match, that is quite evident. Hopefully he gets his shot at the striker role in the absence of Caser and Frey. |
I know he scored 2 goals but my favourite moment from him was just after Morgans shot he followed in looking for his third goal. He challenged for the ball in the box, shoulder to shoulder and sent the defender off the pitch while retaining the ball. Great strength.

Yeah I missed that at the time but saw it on the highlights - he gets himself the right side and gives the defender a properly solid shove, then straight onto the ball and looking for goal. This is right after playing a neat little flick to Morgan to set up the initial shot. As others have said, really good game intelligence especially for his level of experience.
Kolli on 22:41 - Dec 8 with 1621 views | bosh67 | I didn't realise that he'd been at the club since before he was even conceived, or 8 I guess. He's been here 11 years. He almost qualifies to be a Forever R already. I really hope he does get his shot now at this and becomes the player that I think a lot of people have seen a special one over the years. Let's hope the whole is he leaving and what's the problem thing disappears a bit now.

Don't think it's Dean Neal you're thinking of. Although he made a tiny handful of sub appearances in 79/80, he had an Agyemangesque purple patch early the following season when given a run of starts under Docherty, 8 goals in 12 starts. Hardly played much after that though as Venables signed Simon Stainrod.

Indeed, I did read the disclaimer and used the word ‘assuming’ when referring to the data being correct. Clearly they are estimates. I generally take what I read with a pinch of salt, especially when looking online, but it's a data product company that sells (a large variety of football) data commercially (hence the CYA disclaimer should someone use it incorrectly), so I doubt that they made the whole thing up. I would also expect that the 'free' data is based on more accurate data that is paid for and supplied to 'professionals,' given the charges they quote. There’s probably a + or - % of tolerance built into each estimated salary they publish unless they have seen every contract, but when you look at the list for context (assuming every data point has a similar tolerance), you would expect that the ranking/order is probably indicative of status, at least when compared to the other players. My initial point was really that I hope there would be some form of extra payment/incentive for Kolli's performance, given that he appears to be underpaid. Perhaps he earns a bit more (or even less) but in relation to other people it appears that he’s probably undervalued and I guess that's possibly a source of the issues we have seen with social media posts from the father. I also thought it would be useful to have some form of view on contact duration going into January, as it’s a question that crops up time and time again. Again, I expect there are some gaps/issues/inaccuracies too but it's a starting point for when the inevitable contract questions start again. Madsen's 5 year contract appears to be somewhat of an exception according to the table and that may help explain why he has started so often.

squad players will get a appearence bonus as standard and usually a win bonus , rarely a goal bonus is included as clubs think it makes players greedy in front of goal , hes a youth player on youth player wages , and if he had rec better advice im sure he would now be earning the correct salary for a player of his age and experience
