Our strikers just aren’t up to the job. I just spent ages getting all this aligned, then when I posted, it took out all the formatting. Doh! [Post edited 5 Nov 8:54]

Strikers Not Good Enough on 11:27 - Nov 5 with 674 views | Ifonly | That's not the key issue. There is an element of truth in what you're saying, but the main problem is that the chances that we create aren't good enough, mainly because we take so bloody long to create them. So, we might have a shot after 100 passes when the box is crowded with defenders. No surprise the shot doesn't go in. Every stat should be taken with a pinch of salt, but the xG (expected goals) stat does a pretty good job of showing how many goals you should score for the chances you create. A 1 yard tap in to an empty net has an xG of 1, a snatched chance in a crowded box might be 0.1. So, any team that does an average job of finishing chances will score the same number of goals as their xG. Our xG is the second lowest in the league: https://footystats.org/england/premier-league/xg This says that if our finishing was average, we'd still have scored the second lowest number of goals in the league. Also, as shown in the table, our xGD (xG goal difference) is the worst in the league. In terms of quality chances created vs quality chances conceded, we are the worst. So yes our strikers could be better, but even if we had the best finishers in the world we'd still be going down because we don't create quality chances and we offer up lots of easy goals against.
Strikers Not Good Enough on 11:30 - Nov 5 with 668 views | TripleNiemi | How many games has it been where it has taken us nion 40 minutes to have a sôdding shot. That is my absolute major beef of it all. Even if we have to play this possession based snooze fest, doesn’t mean we should not be trying to rattle off more shots for gods sake
