It is football. If footballers will not sign deals there is nothing the club can do about it. We all know that all three players have been offered what is fabulous money for you and me "Taking the p" is nonsense. I am perfectly happy y to see Cullen walk away and end up in league 1.

Darling wants to move on the club needs to get a fee from him Swansea bought Manning for £250k and did not wait for his contact to end. The club will probably have to overpay Cabango. Give him more money that he is worth for stability and continuity.

There are plenty of players at least as good as Cullen in the lower league with higher potential.

Sorry Res, but cullens contract is pathetic. They are relying on his goodwill, which is pretty much done with.

You cannot allow these three players to leave for nothing. That means they all agree deals in January ( it happens ) with other clubs and publicly run down their contracts. Their agents I can assure everyone are not stupid. This is a ridiclious situation that is awaiting now for new investment which is dragging on. If new people within the club cannot manage this in time we will lose them and the players.

Should I blame anyone 😂

An international player on a couple of grand a week is as you say pathetic. What he asked for before they invoked the extension was low compared to what the other squad players are having and he even offered to negotiate and they refused. No wonder the three are not happy with the owners, I don't blame them for leaving.

That Wales are so bereft of forward options Cullen can get a game really shouldn't factor into the clubs thinking when it comes to contract worth.

They have to base it on what he is, namely a bang average Championship striker who probably wouldn't get all that many games for us if we had other options to choose from.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Correct I would not even think about Cullen until Darling and Cabango are sorted. I expect one will stay and one will go. Darling has been making excuses so I do not expect there is anything the club can do to keep him. Best to get him out the door with a fee.

There will he hundreds of players in the same place to partner one or the other. There will also be loans.

Cullen's wage is poor because he has declined a new deal. This might be left on the table. Williams has told him to earn the deal he wants. 12-15 goals. I think it is beyond him.

Plus Cullen has not been offered a new deal the one year option was enforced on the same wages and when Cullen tried to negotiate a new deal they refused.

The fact is if they don't sort out the new investment/ownership quickly the shite is really going to hit the fan and as supporters the worse is yet to come.

You are definite about it but Williams wants him to stay and wanted him to SIGN a new contract. There must have therefore been one to sign. Fans are keen he signs a normal Championship contract but most teams a have monthly deficits and losses.

They are Championship footballers. They don’t want ‘fabulous money to you and me’, they want Championship footballer money. Darling and Cabango have both been excellent this season and we have one of the tightest defences in the league. That doesn’t help if we’re offering below the going rate.

Be careful what you wish for, the last three strikers they bought have two league goals this season between them.

Sad realities of that are we don’t have many other options to choose from and if we offered him a bang average championship striker wage, he’d probably be under contract for the next few years.

I agree about the international striker bit though. Enough of our fans think Vipotnik must be a good striker because Slovenia play him.

The issue for me now is both have gone well above, of even a decent to excellent contract at Swansea.

Cabango especially.

And Pedersen’s assumed contract is absolutely way way above anything we would offer.

You do not understand that "championship" average money is leaving Swansea and other clubs with monthly £1m deficits. The idea of any business is to make a profit. Profit is good even in South Wales.

Swansea have to cut wages not pay the "going rate". The only way this can be achieved is by getting a fee for Darling. £1m will cover Cabango for his new 2 year deal. You called this thinking as absurd for some reason.

Petersen on big money has to go and replaced by Lissah or a new signing .

Do you honestly believe Cabango will want to sign a new contract with what's happening at the club.

He can earn far in excess of £1 million over 2 years.

Following your blueprint we are heading for relegation, who on earth is going to pay Pederson what he's on here

As it happens, I didn’t call that thinking absurd, but I agree with the poster who did.

I don’t think you’re quite grasping the financial implications of relegation, which will happen sooner or later, if we let our best players walk for free and replace them cheaply.

Football clubs run as badly as ours won’t be profitable or successful, we can only hope there is a change at the top soon.

You do not grasp the fact that changing one group of rich US owners with another group of foreign owners will change anything. Someone like Tan who might have a gamble and shove the losses on the club when it fails.

Swansea have to build slowly and gradually and develop it players to be much better. It must give players like Abdullai his chance in his right position. The like of Fulton Cullen and Naughton and Allen are not going to get Swansea top 6. Franco Eom, Ronald, Parker, Wilson and Abdullai might with hard work

Darling wants to leave I suspect and there is nothing the club can do to stop him. Darling has made misleading comments to keep him sweet with the fans until the end of the season. Ramsey played this game at Arsenal saying " there is no contract offer on the table"

The club should sell him if at all possible. Hopefully Abbey or Pederson can step in. Cabango should be offered a good long deal as an ever improving academy player.

Cullen can do what he likes. If any offer comes in take it. The club has a very poor record in developing forwards. He has been given every chance including a penalty. He is OK but OK is not good enough.. Local number 9 for Swansea is still vacant. Josh Thomas is struggling.

Perhaps Woodward is the man. That is where the budget should be going. And the two lads linked with Arsenal and Man City. Sam Parker is tied up thankfully.
[Post edited 15 Oct 14:50]

What misleading comments has he made? Can you prove they are misleading or is it another assumption stated as fact? Honest question because I haven't seen what he's said.

We can only sell him if he agrees to leave, if he has set his mind on leaving on a free then we are stuck.

Any of our young players not on a full contract can be lured away and a tribunal will decide the "development fee" but being a Championship club we'll probably get screwed over, the EPL clubs always get the better end of those decisions.

Yournthird paragraph I agree with, Cullen isn't good enough. He's 25 now, time for him to find his level which I think is league one.

It doesn’t matter how rich they are, they don’t have the competence or desire to run us properly, which is why we are in managed decline.

You aren’t dull enough not to understand that.

No club in the Championship and I’d bet not many in league one have a weaker strike force than us. No other club in the Championship has just two senior centre backs on their books with both looking likely to leave for free at the end of the season.

Neglect

The team is maid table a with a competent manager with Vipotnik Bianchini.and Cullen with Wilson pressing adding pace and directness.

Vipotnik and Bianchini are finding their feet and Williams has to improve them. Even Bony needed 2-3 months I recall. If the club can agree some things with Cabango they will need a new centre back in January or June. I call it everyday problems you call it neglect. If Cullen can agree a deal for £100k then great. Wilson needs to step up asap.

Cabango played very well last night, if he carries on like that then the club is going to have to act quickly and get him on a new contract or he’ll be offski on a freebie next year. His agent will have no shortage of decent offers.

Look at it objectively without your agenda. Two senior centre backs at the club with both out of contract at the end of the season is not ‘every day problems’.

Come back to me in January or June when Cabango has signed an extension and we’ve signed him a partner of Darlings quality.

It is a typical football problem all clubs have. Three players out of contract are at all clubs. Two are in the same position sadly. One has to be kept for continuity. My solution is to move on Darling for a fee and use some of the money to give Cabango a long deal.

The club has shown an ability for wheeling and dealing. No negligence as far as I can see.

Why would Darling accept a transfer in January and deprive himself of a signing on fee that could quite possibly be seven figures. He only has to wait 6 months. He will run his contract down like Manning and Latibeaudiere.

Darling, Cabango & Cullen : Contract Latest on 10:49 - Oct 16 with 521 viewshectorshouse

What I can't wrap my head around is why can't they seem to make a strategic decision, as painful as that may be. In this case the 'obvious' thing to do would be to accept Darling is going, Cullen can stay or go doesn't really matter, Cabango we need to stay. Therefore as a business surely you would accept this position and offer Cabango what we need to to get him to stay. We will have to fund this increase for 6/7 months until Darling (and probably Cullen) leaves which will free up cash to finance the Cabango deal going forward into next season.
It just appears that the current owners are not being proactive in making decisions just letting things happen and fire fighting when it all goes tits up. This is no way to run any business let alone a football club.

Don’t try to twist this into a normal situation.

We ONLY have two senior centre backs on our books and they are BOTH able and fairly likely to walk for free in the summer.

That is in no way comparable to a club with a normal playing squad having three players contracts expiring (that would be a worry in itself if they were all regular starters, which ours are).

You know that and you won’t fool anyone by pretending it’s the sort of thing that happens to well run clubs.
