We Go All Passive 11:16 - Aug 14 with 1962 viewsNorthantsHoop

Andersen said it on Saturday after WBA defeat we fall away and go all passive, seems to happen after we score. Last night was noticeable went ahead and sort of lost momentum and Cambridge sensed it and upped their game. Marti needs to sort this out and get them focused, otherwise we will be in for a few shockers. Thought too many strolling around again last night other than Smyth, Frey and Andersen. Dixon-Bonnar missed a couple of sitters and his frustration was visible, rather than getting stuck in. The modern footballer is a strange beast far too sensitive in my opinion, hence going passive.

I think we're still very mentally fragile after the last two years. Hayden made a huge difference in that regard and is no longer here. Not an attribute you really get when you're buying analytics signings off the OnlyBallers subscription.

We could scarcely have looked more casual if we'd turned out wearing loafers, burgundy pringle jumpers and floppy fringes.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Good point and not ideal when you're playing West Brom on day one. It was men against boys by the end.

Suffering since 1978.

I'd love to know if they're misinterpreting what Marti wants them to do in these passive periods, or if they're just instinctively looking to hold onto leads based on painful experience, or what.

I didn't see last night but it was really noticeable after scoring on Saturday. Then one of the first things the manager says afterwards is we dropped back unnecessarily, and Anderson points out exactly that they became too passive - what is going on there then?

Obviously scoring caused West Brom to have more of a cutting edge, maybe it's just as simple as not being able to live with it against better players, but as a team something clearly seems to happen there - hopefully it improves over the coming weeks.

You defend from the front. For all I'm happy to give Calar Time, he was an empty shirt in that regard on Saturday, so much so we may as well have been playing with 10 men.

Hate to say it.

But we've been missing them since the Warnock era

LEED-DAH's!!!

Don't need nutters flying into tackles and fist pumping "pashun".... there's just a dearth of respected senior pro's in the squad leading by example or counsel. This is what makes me larf when people talk about a signing "not fitting the model" because they're over 28 years old.
We need experience or the young un's will only gain negative experience

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

We need a Derry, and, quite possibly, another striker.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?
