These two matches are no different to the 11 a-side games that are played internally. I wouldn't expect fans to be allowed to watch them either.
It was always stipulated that no fans would be admitted and I can't see why that is a mad decision. Especially as the quality of the sides we would be playing against was unknown.

I found this extended vid of the training in Girona very interesting but would have loved to have been able to catch more of what Cifuentes was saying.
I don't mind the standard of opposition to start with. They might be lower league to start but this time around unlike last season I actually feel like there is a reason for it and part of a bigger plan. This is about fitness and working on patterns of play with and without the ball, against opposition who are unpredictable. You can do this in training but everyone knows each other so they will know what a player is going to do with the ball. Here you have to do that but with the unknown
Smyth has had three chances to cross already. Ran one out of play, ran into traffic once, and got the cross in once.
I'd love him to use his first touch to knock it into space. He often takes the first touch to set himself up for the one-on-one. Then, and only then, does he take his man on. No need sometimes. Don't let him settle.
