Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 08:05 - Mar 14 by Northernr | I guess. Shouldn't be allowed should it. I've no time for Reading but one mental twt has sold their stadium, their training ground, and run the whole place into the ground, and nobody can or will step in and take the keys off him. |
The alternative though is the FL who claim to support and promote financial security and responsibility stepping in to keep the club afloat. Its not a great message to the rest of the clubs you’re trying to force to cut their cloths appropriately. That’s not to say that reading fans aren’t entitled to some sympathy, but again, they weren’t outside protesting when they thought a billionaire was taking over were they….
Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 13:41 - Mar 14 with 2812 views | Lanhoop | I don't get that Wycombe have done anything wrong. The training ground is possibly the only asset that Reading have that they can sell for the sort of money that will either maintain Reading's existence for a while under the current owners or enable them to walk away at a lower selling price for the club. Let's face it no one will want to buy that ground. I'm not sure who else would want a training facility around there. If they don't sell some assets, and soon, then I suspect they'll be out of business completely before the start of next season. If Wycombe were the vultures that some of the Reading children are saying they'd actually wait for administration and buy the training ground as a distressed asset at an even lower price.

Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 14:11 - Mar 14 with 2646 views | LazyFan | I wonder, if it does fail, will those same Reading fans start supporting QPR as we are only down the road to them and they will only need to change the badge on some of their very old shirts. I said when they went down, that would be the end of them. Seems it could be happening faster than I thought.

Or, god forbid, QPR solve the stadium problem by selling up and moving out to Reading.

Don’t. I know of a friend of a friend “QPR fan” who has a season ticket at the Soggy Biscuit Tin. I’ve passed on various messages to the tw4t, over the years, of course. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Fair points, lanhoop. You may well be right. Maybe Reading fans will appreciate this. I shouldn't have commented really as I didn't see that angle.

Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 15:04 - Mar 14 with 2442 views | bosh67 | Whatever we think of Reading I really feel for the fans. It must be heartbreaking to watch a club that had stable finances and leadership being driven off a cliff like this.

Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 15:21 - Mar 14 with 2399 views | QPRConor2000 | You have to feel for the Reading fans, their owner is an absolute scumbag. They now no longer own their stadium nor their training ground, and basically they have to find somewhere to rent. Also the Bearwood training ground is one of the best in the country, so Wycombe getting it for a cut price deal is a good deal for them. I have a very bad feeling for Reading, they could easily be the next club to go out of business.
Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 15:23 - Mar 14 with 2396 views | James_Paddocks | They were probably the first of the smaller clubs to overtake us back in 2005ish? Got no time for those gimps next to the away end, but there will be thousands of normal Reading fans who potentially might not have a club to support in the near future. All of the 92 (except MK Dons) should be protected.

No, I mean't they all come to our stadium, which is still in West London. No one wants to go to an Oracle shopping centre.

Reading sell training ground to Wycombe Wanderers on 15:48 - Mar 14 with 2330 views | terryb | Where have Wycombe got the money from to buy this training ground? I'm sure I read lots of times last season & during the summer that they were virtually broke & didn't have a pot to piss in! It would be a good purchase for them though. Where will Reading now train & what will happen to the current WW training ground?

Wimbledon were never well supported and couldn't generate crowds even when they were in the PL. Always in the shadow of Chelsea. If anything, it's worked really well for Wimbledon.

The club was in a dire state, no ground, very low attendances, no support from the council etc. The fans now have a club they partly own AND they've got a brand new ground in Wimbledon. The move to MK definitely brought about a positive outcome for them.
