In League Two there is always the possibility of a club being in such a dire financial situation that it gets thrown out of League Two. If one club did get thrown out then only the team that finished bottom would get relegated.
So Dale should battle on to finish 23rd. Even if it does not save Dale from relegation it would create a competitive base situation going into the close season.

This is a good point. However, having only battled to 6 wins out of 38 league games, I fear this concept is alien (not D_Alien) to the players, manager and directors of the club and can't see it happening.
