It wasn't over the top. You've seen the stats, the number of deaths, the way new variants are affecting younger and younger people, the hospitalisations and the effects of long covid and in all that, the effect on the NHS and the knock oneffects which mean people desperately needed other treatments and operations have had to wait.
Even with all that (and bearing in mind you admitted feeling scared) look at all the people saying this is a hoax, the vaccines are bio weapons, it's all part of a plan to depopulate, the great reset. How is believing them better? Isn't a mass bio weapon a scarier idea than covid? Why would people believe these ludicrous notions and push them on the internet, unless they are seriously disturbed and/or making money, possibly just nasty, devious trolls?
With all these scare stories look how many people ignored the rules, look how many got abusive towards people whose job was to simply ask them to wear masks in their shops.

For instance they and others raised the fact that the Pfizer study summary on pregnant women was wrong.
