Part of why I was always confident CA would complete the move is how what he could offer us aligns so uniquely well with what we needed. Even aside from all the rest of it - club icon, elder mentorship etc - just in terms of pure minutes the limits of Charlie's fitness, of Dykes' other commitments (and erstwhile form issues), and of having our other options in midfield, it all seems to sit comfortably together without creating the tension of someone likely to feel left out / become underdeveloped.
